I think a much more prudent rule would be making sure that "Sold" is put into the subject line after the item sells.

I only mind the bump from a "sold" post if the subject line doesn't also say that, so I can ignore it.

Haha I did this today... oops! If I knew it stirred such anger I would have made sure to do it to every sale I have had

When you get approximately 2.7 billion PMs from some sales, it's a lot easier to do that to let people know it's sold than to try to keep track of all the PMs and tell each person individually. Just editing the original post will still leave it buried, so the people more likely to send countless PMs are less likely to actually see it.

Sometimes i read headfi and im not signed in, so i wouldnt get that pop up thing.
