Lcd3 vs Lcd4

Should my Auralic Taurus Mk2 be a good match for my LCD4’s? The Auralic made my LCD3’s sound good.

I have no idea but the big LCDs are not any kind of a challenge for a decent amp.

I just got them and they are nice cold straight out of the box.They sound good with 5 minutes on them! They are obviously a different league than the LCD3 which are nice in their own right.

After much research I decided to get a Moon 430 ha. The LCD4 sounds good already with my Auralic Taurus Mk2 so I don’t know what to expect.

As my Lcd4 phones are getting some play time they are sounding better as time goes on. My only caveat is that they have next to no isolation and my wife gets easily annoyed by my music.They are easy to play loud. They are heavy but I don’t mind.My Taurus Mk2 sounds nice so my Moon 430 ha will be an experience to hear. I am keeping my Taurus Mk2 as it will be a spare amp just in case.

How would you describe the way they sound vs. the LCD3?

My Lcd4 are still just with only maybe 2 or 3 hours play on them so it’s too early to make a fair comparison but I can say I loved my LCD3 phones. The LCD4 are nicer but the house sound remains.Someone else on headfi wrote that the 3’s are nice and the 4’s are more of that type of nice.

I will have my Moon 430ha this Friday!!! My LCD4 sounds good with my Auralic Taurus Mk2
I’m not sure what to expect!!! I was expecting to find the Lcd4 weird sounding at first but not so.They sounded new. They are improving all the time. I think those who are underwhelmed at first may be inappropriately amped and or cabled.

I’m hoping my balanced ALO chain 8 cable will work well also.

To answer my own questions they work very well with the Lcd4 phones. I’m getting my Moon 430ha this Friday. I don’t know what to expect but it should be better with burn in.

I am now experiencing the best sound I have ever experienced in my life! The Lcd4 phones have only 5 or 6 hours play and my mind is blown.

If your signature is current we have a similar setup. I had the Taurus and still have the PerfectWave and Lcd4... it is quite a brilliant combo.

I believe my Cardas Golden Reference balanced cables everywhere and my Audio Art Statement 1 power cables with Shunyata Hydra 6 help give me a warm to neutral sound. It took me years to find my appropriate sound with cable trials. I am a huge believer in good cabling.
