I love my Lcd3 hp but wonder if the Lcd4 would be worth the money to upgrade to. It seems that some people prefer the 3’s regardless price and some feel the 4’s are better despite the price.
Opinions would be appreciated.

I feel this will be my eventual route, too. There's a sense of more dynamic musicality and bass impact with the LCD-4 that I don't quite have on the LCD-3. I mean, it's there, but not as much as the LCD-4

I am on my third pair LCD4 at the moment. Last year I had two simultaneously with apparently same driver revision but they sounded not the same; eventually sold both to get into Stax.
Have now my third pair and it sounds terrific but if you need a dark and heavy sounding headphone go with the LCD3.

As I wait delivery of my LCD4 phones I have been giving my LCD3 phones a good long listen and I must say they are very nice sounding phones. I am very excited for the LCD4 phones just the same.

I have LCD-2C and LCD-3F and can't afford the LCD-4 It is nice to read impressions from guys that can compare it to cans I also own. Is there a choice of wood on those? I didn't really like the wood I got on my 3Fs.

My LCD4’s are being held till Monday at the UPS warehouse. At least they are in Canada and in fact are about 7 minutes away from my house. I am using my Denon D7000 phones which are my spare phones for this type of reason. They are actually not bad. My main speaker setup is nice and is nicer than my LCD3’s were with my Auralic Taurus Mk2 amp.The LCD4’s should surpass my speaker amp setup but time will tell. I’m a big believer in good cable matching with my audio gear.
