Here are some Jazz recommendations for you, from an owner of the "LCD-2 Lites" (i.e. HD 650s).
Pasting album covers isn't working for some reason; sorry.
I've tried to avoid any of the more well known Jazz musicians, i.e. Miles, Coltrane, Mingus, even thought there are lots of gems within their albums.
David Murray
Special Quartet
"Special" because it is former John Coltrane band members, except for Murray. I think that some of the tracks on this are better than the Coltrane originals. I saw David Murray live a few years ago, and he is highly recommended if you have the chance to see him. Excellent tenor sax player.
David Murray
Octet plays 'Trane
The first track on this (Giant Steps) is my favourite hi-fi torture test. If it sounds as if the musicians can't keep time, you need to upgrade. It may be best to avoid this if your wallet has taken enough abuse recently. On a good system it really swings, on an average one they sound as if they've never met before.
John Abercrombie
While We're Young
This is an unusual trio of guitar, drums and Hammond organ and is excellent. There are two other albums by the same trio, but this is my favourite. I was fortunate enough to see this trio live and they were fantastic. Animato is also recommended, but is different in style.
Roberto Magris Europlane
Check In
I'd had this on my system for a year and hadn't played it. BIG mistake, it's the best new Jazz album I've listened to in some time.
Dave Holland
Extensions
I've loved this ever since it was released. Steve Coleman's sax playing on this is exquisite.
Kenny Wheeler
Angel Song and The Widow at the Window.
The former is just a beautiful sounding album, and aptly named.
If any of these grab your interest, I've got a lot more recommendations along similar lines that you'll probably also like.
