Launch: VE Line UIEMs

That’s a bummer you couldn’t get a solid seal. I love my uni Elysium to pieces. I know some don’t like foams, but the ones I use work great. I get a beautifully textured mid range with good bass. The treble is still very present without being sibilant. The soundstage is also right up there with some of the biggest I’ve heard.

It is impressive though, which is why I’m thinking of getting a custom one once I buy everything else I wanna get lol there are just a lot of other IEMs in my wishlist. And I’m still really curious about the Erlky.

Hoping to hear it soon.

Yeah seems to affect their lower end, but they don’t specify exactly how. Obviously I’d guess less bass response overall.

Also the ambience system is not offered on the CIEM Elysium.
Oh really eh?

I wonder if it’s because of the DD.

nonetheless, this new move is definitely gonna introduce more customers to their VE line without going custom.

Seems like you can choose this also on their new universal if you create one with the creator . But I think it will impact the bass yes

I actually tried this earlier with the VE8 unit and it’s not available.

Did you tried eve20 ? Did you got the same issues with it ? I had both here and they have the same form factor as Uni elysium . Just to know if it has something to do with the DD . I never had / heard the erlkonig ( yet ) but from picture .. shape looks also pretty similar ?

Actually I believe I also did get the vacuum seal on the EVE20 too, so maybe not the DD. The Erlk is similar in shape to both, just stick further out of the eat because of the shell and then its heavier. Not sure why I receive zero vacuum from the Erlk, but not complaining there. :D

VE offers an ambience system on their customs, I wonder if that would help. I’m sure it’ll change the bass though.

Hi guys,

Let me step in here.

The ambience system basically is a vent, as it is an additional bore/sound canal that connects the ear canal with the outside world. Regarding vacuum/pressure issues, this will do the trick as it opens the system that initially is a closed one. But if you open a closed system, parts of the energy in the system will be lost and make their way out. This results in less bass/low mids and a bit less accuracy. The grade of damping can be adjusted with 3 filters.
The ambience system originally is developed for musicians to give them a better connection to their audience and to avoid the feeling of isolation while working with CIEMs.
Therefor it is only available with the CIEMs of the VE Line.

It is not available with any UIEMs or the ELYSIUM custom.

I hope this helps a little.

All the best,

Johannes

Is the new universal shell same as your old universal demos? Any additional charges if I choose to customize the colour of the universal?

The shape of the UIEMs is basically the shape of the demo units that you know. There might be slight changes in the shape of the nozzle, depending on which generation of demo units you had.
The shap will be the same for the signature design and for the units that you design yourself in the VE Configurator.

Roger that, any additional charges if i choose to customise the colours of my universal? Or will i be charge the price of custom?

Wore the VE8 for hours without any discomfort despite the lack of “APEX” system.

Amazing IEM.

The biggest problem I had with the universal Elysium was the vacuum seal I would get, it was a deal breaker for me in the end. I don’t experience it on the Erlkonig.
Funnily enough, I know a CIEM Elysium owner that also experiences it, so I’m not sure if the non-vented DD driver has something to do with it. I know it’s still a small DD but perhaps some of us are more sensitive to it than others?

I'm sensitive to vacuum effect too and have Elysium CIEM, VE8 and Erlkonig among many other IEMs and CIEMs. This problem is caused by many reasons, including our eustachian tube build, which may be too closed, and also some internal muscle strains, wrong posture among other reasons. I went through a long way to fight with it. Nowadays I have no vacuum with my CIEMs. Probably the best way to start working on it is to visit several experts: (1) orthodontist, (2) osteopath (or maybe two, three, because they may have different specialisation and don't understand the problem), (3) logopedist / speech and language therapist / to locate all the strains, (4) laryngologist - to see how your nose is built internally with a small camera and see if it is not closing your eustachians tubes... My experience is almost no one knows about this problem and what to do about it and I had to come a very long way to solve this. But it's worth working on if you want to live your life to the fullest... as an audiophile :-D
