My post was not directed to you , sorry if you feel it might have been. It was a general post only . I do not own the recti you have so I can only say it's good if luk used it but could be a general kind of good meaning a sharing point . Try the eml mesh 274b . I am using it now for a while it's staging is upfront and very clean sounding . Pinpoint imaging
Not as much depth as some others but it does show clearly who is where and has good height .

What are the other tubes that have better depth?

I asked my distributor and apparently Lukasz told him only the 23a is not  to be used in my dac.

Winson was the heat dissipation problem from running 4 300b's in balanced mode?

Also can anyone direct me to any specific 6a3 tubes they have had good luck with or a source for them ?

Is it Balanced? If so no 2a3 or 300b in Bal mode. I SE mode, all can be used in the back row.

I think Tube Depot in the US has 6A3 reasonably priced. AL had a good cheap source at one time. Heblives ghe Sylvania Greenleaves and the Tungsol. Others swear by the VT52..which is a similar tube.

On Ebay at one time it was possible to get a pair of 6a3 for $75. It may still be.

Buy them it's a great tube and to have a pair of real old nos is rare.

Yes but try them in SE first so you know it's your type of sound. Don't get so crazy on brands but you do need to get the same brand and structure of used balanced but them being new nos is pretty rare
So used but testing high is fine. I have any pairs and skins wise same brand same structure is fine.
Also try them SW up first and burn them in for an hour or two each time. Like break in.
After a few times then try SW down. They work in both directions

Lol. On the back of your lampi viewing from the front looking towards the back there is a switch to the right of the power inlet it's tiny
On the back it labeled. Down is 300B up is 45.
A 6A3 works up or down but is setup for down. My point is break the tubes in on up setting its mess power to the heaters

Guys guys,  I need some advise too for upgrading the DHT and rectifier.

I didn't want to buy lots, just a good set that will work and hence avoid over spending.

I would like to improve on the air around the instruments, make music sound more open.
Improve the decay of the instruments.
Improve the depth in the soundstage all this without sacrificing the detail.

Currently I have the white ceramic PSvane 101d and 5U4C.

I was thinking along the lines of EML 45 and EML 5U4G

What did you mean, I just suggested EML tubes but then guys like you are the experts so is thee something else ?

And did you say I loose detail from what I have currently ?

A few things. I am no expert and I never considered myself knowledgable
I am only someone who has owned high end audio most of my life and a few lampi s
I did help luk go in a certain direction for the head dac
I am someone who has many tubes and played around with my B7 and head dac with them
I have done this on a few flagship headphones and speakers setups. But always put your taste first so read about what tube has what sound. I like a mid forward tube. 6 a3 are that tube
Google lampi tube rolling and read it's Greek at first but gets easy fast
Google the Tpyes of tubes talked about.
There are some really smart guys out there on what parts do what in a tube and structures who made what. In audio for this purpose it matters little
Real tube rolling is complex and requires adjustments inside a device and a Dvm to make adjustments. We who own a lampi just flip a SW lol. So the ones who really know are not really understanding of just how easy this is. And the tubes we use sound in some ways different Ina real amp output stage.
As you go for more weight you loose some details all tries do this. Again getting what you like is important.
Try to find someone who has other tubes to try as well.
Hope this helps
