LAMPIZATOR THREAD COMMENTS REVIEWS TUNING

A few things. I am no expert and I never considered myself knowledgable

I am only someone who has owned high end audio most of my life and a few lampi s

I did help luk go in a certain direction for the head dac

I am someone who has many tubes and played around with my B7 and head dac with them

I have done this on a few flagship headphones and speakers setups. But always put your taste first so read about what tube has what sound. I like a mid forward tube. 6 a3 are that tube

Google lampi tube rolling and read it's Greek at first but gets easy fast

Google the Tpyes of tubes talked about.

There are some really smart guys out there on what parts do what in a tube and structures who made what. In audio for this purpose it matters little

Real tube rolling is complex and requires adjustments inside a device and a Dvm to make adjustments. We who own a lampi just flip a SW lol. So the ones who really know are not really understanding of just how easy this is. And the tubes we use sound in some ways different Ina real amp output stage.

As you go for more weight you loose some details all tries do this. Again getting what you like is important.

Try to find someone who has other tubes to try as well.

Hope this helps

Sorry but it doesnt help, I have read quite a bit and its confusing as ****.
As for being able to try other tubes, no one has Lampizators here in Melbourne Australia.

Ok sorry , I'll,try but I am not good at among clear and consic points lol.

For the lampi the sound scape of tubes are as follows

Going from analitical to heavey
101D 6A3 45 300 B

Now there are variations of each tube as some tones within have more non linear sound meaning mid foward or ressesed .
Not all tubes are as clean as others this is both by brand and style meaning 300 b or 45
Your 101 D are linear as such do give an accurate presentation of the Music . But there is a flaw in them for me. They are not heavey in weight for some music . Weight meaning thickness of nite , how long the note hangs . This weight in some cases gives harmonics or over to tones that a 101 D does not. If you use peddles ona piano the key is live it vibrates after its struck or it then there is peddles that make it less more dull. The 101 D gives less cause the notes decay faster. A 45 has more so it hangs longer . A violyn is the opposite so it sounds better ona 101 d . It's nkte are sharper . A 6a3 is amid forward rich in note thickness , but it's not linear less accurate . Now keep in mind our hearing or our systems are not linear either . So I say try and listen as you and your systems needs are not what I say or anyone else . Now a 300B has plenty of weight but has the least overtones . If you have a 101 D and want to try something different but along the same it's tough to say to try a 6A3 or 45 bottle heads . Luks new 45 mesh globes are not linear and mid foward but have the weight of a 45 tube . But there is a third virtue of some tubes clarity . A 101 d rules in this next is a 6A3 next a 45 but Luks new globes are amazing in the fact they have the weight of a 45 but clarity of 101 D .
While I hope this helps it might not but I am hope full. Also guys and gals who can write better and explain better even if it's nit how I feel . Help please

That was certainly very helpful, just on the last comment though. Lukasz's new globes? WHnich ones are you referring too.

I so need the extra decay and the holographic soundstage so will the Psvane WE101d replica give me that?

That's my point you will not get it with the 101 D. But you can get some it with a 6A3. Or the new globes.

Pm Winston on this thread or your dealer they can get them also search in eBay for them.
They are an eml 45 globe mesh best tube I ever heard to date and better than the Elrogs I have and they will, not burn out . But they are not cheap . Now tubes will last you many years Ina lampi as they are driven at about 20 % or so.

The EML Globe Mesh is out of stock, So what is the next best?

Do you believe the 6A3 would be a better option than the EML 45 Mesh?

It's a gods runner up and much cheaper to buy. Is toys a SE or bal
The bottle head 45 mesh are also a good second d as well. And they are more linear
They are more expensive then the 6A3
If it were me and I mean me I would go with the eml 45 mesh cause it's more linear and compatible to the 101 D sound
But remember it will have a bit less detail to get the Harmonic sounds. But when playin a piano it's obvious what tube seems more real please post your thoughts for others what ever you do.

I definitely will and mine is SE.

As for the rectifier would the EML 5U4G be a good one to get or should I get the WE274b replica?

Eml is my choice. I have both tubes. It has a more up close presentation on my IRS v. It kits you right there and that's where I like to be. The pavane is a little further back so a bigger stage. I like to sit up front so it's my second. What's good is they both a real new and warented
Remember SW up for 45 always. And burn in one hour at a time and one hour off for a few days. After that your fine. The tubes will sound odd at times during burn in. And may make a little noise. This happens for the first hour or so.

@ALRAINBOW  1.Which EML rectifier is best the 5U4G or the 274B?  2.Also, what rectifier has better depth than the 274B?  3.What is the last EML 45 tube you got in?

I don't like upfront presentation but how bad is the EML 5U4G?

Every one has a view , but of you add a bit of logic you might see this view.
If you have the 101d already and know the sound getting the metal
Is a slight imrpovemt on the same sound theme. The point of that would be better sound of the type still thin sound
As for the recti as I have many including the ones discussed here I find it hard for someone to say it's not upfront and close
You might to try just new tubes first and then change the recti. You can also sell the tubes you do not like.
Can you post me a link to the discussion maybe I am missing something
At any rate I feel your pain

Thanks I post d a reply let's see what is said. Again this needs to be your choice.
Also why don't you buy the 6A3 for now. Fast and cheap and a must have tube set anyway. As you roll your music is again new so there is no one set for all music. At least not for me.
Also email luk to put you Ina list for the globes. Keep the recti you have or buy the one both of us have said to try
