It's not better it's different. We need to be understanding this very important point.
For so far the DAC is perfection. However when I connect it to speakers I may feel a change may be in order.
Having tubes is pure genius and why more DAC makers do not is a no brainer as if allows us to Taylor the dacs sound like is audio does with there firmware
But we have better options with tubes or at least more options.
The resin there is no better is as said above
With all the hearsay post s. In the web sites about a lampi I would rather keep it clear
The unit s we have are top shelf stuff and come with tubes hand picked and voiced
And I think luk has excellent voicing skills.

Rolling is one of the temptations present when you have a tube-based unit!  Good luck in your tube rolling adventures.

BTW, the BIG5 made a big impression at the SF meetup this last Sunday.  Probably a good thing it was located off the beaten path as people had a chance to really listen and do so in a quieter environment.  Not sure if it was the removed cover, but people were fascinated.  Oh yeah, by the sound too.

Thanks for bringing your DACs to the SF meetup.  I thought the comparison of the Lampizator Level 5 and the DirectStream in PCM mode over headphones was very interesting.
Too bad about the broken switch on the Level 5 which prevented any comparisons of DSD mode between the Level 5 and DS.  Would have enjoyed hearing that as well.

Yes, it is okay.  Lukasz was the one who actually looked at it before he said it was okay.  Couple of caveats:  One, he was specifically talking about the BIG5.  It might be different for other systems (I would email).  Two, there was a resistor in the signal path that he said would lessen the effect of the higher draw.  In my case, he went ahead and removed them so I could get full effect.

Assuming you have BIG5 too, I would love to hear how the Bendix's change the sound for you.  Also, what preamp tubes are you using?  My BIG5 is using 6sn7.

I tried bendix with my B7 today,I loved them a lot. I think they are better than the stock tubes. The soundstage is increasing and sound is more precise. However, I noticed that the rear part of my B7 was getting hotter than when I used other rectifiers. I am bit worried about this. i will try Brimar and Mullurd EZ35 after I got them. They are both on their way to my house.

The tube changes are way more dramatic than firmware at least in my setup. The rectifier changes are the most dramatic. Changes to the entire voicing difference. Bendix seemed to move your apparent seating position back a few rows and 2-4x the soundstage.

No When I filled the order form, it was too early to make à deposit. At this time the final price was unknown.

I cannot wait to roll some tubes on. The B7. In a direct comparison to the msb platinum stack it really does rule. They both are on the penthouse sweet but with slightly diffent views . Give the lampi is a one man show in research and msb is a boatload of people and the lampi is a third of the price. It's a simple no brainier to buy one. This new headphone amp intrigs me plenty. But given the stuff on have I need a loaner to compare with . But my only fear is the new lampi not doing the HE 6 well. Even though they re not the only headphone I use it's the most dificult to listen to when it's off kilt . The hd800 is next but given it's tubes I think it will be very good with most. I know it's too late in the game to ask for something but my vote is the exposed tubes as well.
