Just got the Fedex tracking number for my customs from Adam. They should be here in two days. I will post pics when they arrive. I don't know what color they are going to be. I asked for something similar to the "Merlot" color Westone offers. Let's see what Adam came up with.

how long did you wait for your customs?

he received my impressions on June 24th. I ordered them on June 10th. It took him 2 weeks to mail me the molding kit. so about 2 months from when i placed my order. or a little less than 6 weeks after he received my ear impressions. either way, a pretty long time. however, from the pics others have posted, Kozee looks like it makes quality ear pieces.

If I get my impression done by an audiologist and send my impression and the iem and paperwork. Will it be quicker to get them done.?

Hey i2ehan, would you be willing to do me/us/head-fi a favor? The next time you call, could you ask if they can do arcrylic/silicone hybrids like the westone es5 kind? I don't live in the states so long distance phoning is a no-go and Adam hasn't responded to my emails. If they could make hybrid shells, tha would be a huge incentive for me to buy from kozee, even though they have long wait times. If you cant, it's cool though. Thanks in advance

In case you don't know, 1964 ears are doing hybrid shells - I ordered a pair of Triples with soft canals yesterday. They also do reshells, although they are not as cheap as Kozee.

Thanks for letting me know that! I will consider them but price is also a priority as well... Being a student I have to decide between ciems or ramen for a month...$275 for a reshell with soft tips and simple artwork sure is steep

So, I received my reshelled Klipsch Custom 3s from Kozee last week. I used them for about 2 days now and am in the introductory stages, as these are my first Custom IEMs and my first listen to Custom 3s. So far I can say I am somewhat pleased.

Everything I asked Kozee to do when making my shells, they did. The only issue I had with them is: their quoted finish/delivery time was half of what is actually was. I was given a 3 week estimate for my reshells to be done. When actually, it was closer to 6 weeks.

Also, they never included a cleaning tool with my order. No biggy, as I have one for my other IEMs, but just probably a forgetful and forgivable mistake.

I also asked them to make me a custom color, "Merlot", like these Westones:

What came out, wasn't exactly what I had hoped for, but I am happy with the color. It is a darker, brick sort of red. Looks classy to me.

As for the build quality: there are some minor cosmetic flaws, and you can see a faint line where the faceplate was adhered to the body of the shell, but everything is minor. I think they will continue to improve upon their builds as they increase their sales/experience. The cable supplied is excellent: thin, light-weight, and it seems very tough. I am very pleased with it.

Here are some pics:

By the way, I am thinking about selling my extra detachable cable (the clear one seen in the picture). It is 4 ft long. PM me if anyone is interested. It is in great condition. I am going to post a FS ad soon.

Thank you for the pics my friend. They certainly do look classy. A dark blood red if you will. I too agree on the provided cable. In fact, I opted to use it first over my stock JH16 cable, though I didn't have enough time to distinguish between the two. Do keep us posted, as to what changes (if any) you encounter within the next few days/weeks time. And also, just out of curiosity, were you provided with a frequency chart? I requested for Adam to include one when he sends my refits back.

Just spoke to Adam. Seems that he is taking the safe route and reshelling the left shell altogether, in order to fix the fit issue for which I resent the JH16's. At this point in time, he said they're only half-way through, and I should check back this coming Friday/Monday. I also asked him about the hybrid shell, and as has already been stated, Adam said that they encountered too many problems when using silicone, and only offer acrylic shells "for right now".

Spoke with Adam today, since he asked me to call back in today and check up on the status of my JH16's. If all goes well, he said he'd be able to have them out the door by this evening. But... I'm assuming that means Monday it is.
