I've owned a clip, and it sounds better out of a more powerful player or amp. The KSC75s sound great out of my arrow and Xonar DG, the sound really gets filled out compared to my iphone 4..

Yup. KSC75's (and Sportapro's, and DJ100 (TB)'s) all benefit from amping as far as I am concerned. Loving them through the Clip Zip (rockboxed) + C&C BH.

Since its summer, I thought I'd share my beach rig. Great SQ, even unamped for a rig that altogether cost less than $50.

You inspired me to post a crappy quality shot of my "beach rig". Clip zip (rockboxed) --> C&C BH --> Sportapro drivers on parts express headband (although I swap between them and the ksc75 drivers frequently). Pretty enamored with the sound actually! And perfect for the summer when my ears can't stand the heat of my other headphones.

Any decent source + Zero Audio Carbo Basso = the sound of summer and pretty much any other time of this year.

Clip+ and KSC75 = sound of the summer?
I'm struggling to equate "sound of the summer" with "underamped thin sound, weird cpu/memory access noises, random skips* and rapidly diminishing battery life".
I love my KSC75s and like my Clip+ but they aren't a great match. For me a Rockboxed iRiver H140 with KSC75 is the portable sound of the (cold, grey, windy, wet, British) summer so far. At my desk it's a Yamaha receiver from the 1990s and the kSC75s. Come back 2004, you sounded great and the prices asked still bore a relation to reality.
*the player skips, not the owner.

Definitely not sound of summer. If I use the TF10s instead of the 75s then we may be approaching SoS, but for use on a beach surrounded by water, sand, and hyper children, good SQ in a package that won't make me cry if it gets crushed or waterlogged is just fine!Clip+ and KSC75 = sound of the summer?

Well, they are also known as the Zero Audio DX210's lol.
And they are $45 on amazon japan. Add $20 for tenso shipping and they cost $65. Where I live (Canada), the KSC75's are $30CN. So the Basso's are only a little over twice as much. But the Basso's are actually worth much more than their $65 price tag - they really are great iems.

Personally, I could never get comfortable with the KSC75s, or any other clip-on.
No comfort = not useful.
Sound is quite decent though - cheap enough to try and trash if the fit does not work for you.

Me neither. That's why they are on the parts express headband. Problem solved!
