Koss KSC-35 vs. KSC-50 (in pictures...)

KSC35 is open and do leak sound, but I think they leak a bit less than the KSC50 even though the difference isn't a big one.

IF the KSC-35's were made in silver, and had a less tanglesome cable i wouldve not upgraded to 50's

Personally I'll take discrete black over ear-rings silver anyday, not to mention I really prefer the sound of the KSC35.

I liked the dicrete black better than the silver. I hated the cord on the 50's too. So, I did this.

That cord is a japanese short version from some bad sounding Audio Technica phones.

Koss stopped using the messed up cloth cord awhile back. Newer units have the same black cord as the KSC-35. Check before you buy.

The older version was silverplated (or is it plain nickel?) while the new version before they were discontinued were goldplated (as mine is).

Yeah.. earclips isn't really my cup of tea.. I prefer behind neck style..

interesting. Guyferd how's the fit of the ksc-55? cause i'm just thinkin about the logic here. the drivers of the ksc-35 and 55 seem to be identical except for diaphram color (?). some ksc-35 and 50 owners observed that the 35's sound a bit better because of the fit.. hmmmm, if the ksc-55 is the back-neck band version of the ksc-50's, and i pressume they would fit well, i think it would follow that the ksc-55 could step up higher than the 50's and can margin the 35's? opinions?

plus, as TMC pointed out, we have the gold plated plug

my sentiments exactly. Since these things are like ksc-50 but with tighter, better fit, I would expect them to sound no less than ksc-35. In fact, some people say that ksc-55 has tighter bass(due to their fit).
I have recommended ksc-55 to a few people.. and they are very happy with it. I am thinking to get one myself too. Ksc-35 is good sounding, just that it isn't pretty. I am afraid everyone will be sniggering when they see me wearing a $1 dollar cheap recycled plastic headphone..
