Judging by the reactions, it really seems to be just PR2 v2 but this time officially released as its own product, as it should've been from the beginning...
What it's relationship to previous KZ planars is I can't comment on.

What I will say is that I generally couldn't listen to Springsteen on an older kz iem. The v shaped tuning pushed the vocals too far down in to the wall of sound.
The pr3 doesn't do that.
I am presuming that's a benefit of planar tech?

I also don't hear that fatiguing treble either.
It's clear and detailed. And sort of disappears. It doesn't colour anything. I've just been listening to a live version of Iceman. Very impressive immediacy.

Great value at 31 euro.

I thought there already was a PR2 v2?

How can the PR3 be the 2nd version?

What about the black filter PR2, the no filter PR2 and the white filter PR2 (that only I know exists)?

I guess we have PR black mesh, PR2 no black mesh and the PR2 with impedance/board inside to reduce treble.

The PR3 with Zobel network and silver plated diaphragm has better treble control and faster bass than any PR2.

PR3 lowers the treble from 2k to 8k, so the treble doesn't sound too harsh. But I think it still affect to others where their ear canal causes additional resonances.

So after some years out of the game i felt compelled to buy something on Black Friday so i ordered the HBB DQ6s, hoping that it would fit to my very "unique" taste of smooth not-offensive-midrange IEMs.

I hope my ZSR v1 would finally have a partner in crime :)

I think the most important change on pr3 is sensitivity. 98db is 2.5 times louder than 94db, so it also requires 2.5 times less power to drive(if pr3's really 98db). Pr2 was not actually a budget iem since the dac you need was actually more expensive than iem's itself. But with pr3, a common cx31993 should drive pr3 well and it can be founded for less than 10 dollars on ali.

Yes that's a huge bonus If true. I had to use a shio on high gain with a balanced cable to get the PR2 sounding dynamic

Oh boy, don't want to scare you off, but IIRC DQ6s was the one that had the big controversy about it concerning glued off and incorrectly wired drivers, with 2 out of 3 DDs basically doing nothing. Have they ever addressed that issue or did they come to conclusion that the fault lies with the person that discovered it and made it public? (like they recently responded to TDM when he complained about horrible channel imbalance in his review sample of PR3).

This gem sounds great on the PR3, especially the staging with the violin, trumpet and guitar cameos:

Sounds awesome on ZS10 Pro X as well, just really well mastered track in general I guess.
