Yes, that was exactly what I thought when I see that purple Rögnir, if ithilienrp has a pair of shoes to match

A few guys above have suggested a comparison that I will love to see here: Rögnir vs GH 50. But I don't know if someone would compare them with the Kennerton open back plannars... And also I would love to see a @Malevolent comparison with his TOTL closed backs (I really love the comparison he made: Denon AH-D9200 vs Sony Z1R vs Verité closed).
Hopefully, I'll be able to snag a Rögnir sometime this year - I don't think I'd get one anytime in the next couple of months. However, it's on my "Should I Buy?" list for the latter half of 2021. In fact, it's the only headphone on this list, at this juncture.

That, and a Focal Utopia. My wife's been talking about (finally) getting an open-back for shared use. Yikes! Neither are cheap.

Of course I do.

Let me share this photo one more time :)

That's Odin Mk2 in Amaranth (Purple Hearth) wood.
This pair needs no introduction here :)

By the way, in case you want info on the rest:

The boots were made of Burgundy Shell Cordovan + Burgundy Suede leathers.
Customized from Carmina Shoemaker; my favorite shoemaker from Spain.

The camera case is in Buttero Violet leathers, by Arte di Mano,
leather camera case specialist from Korea.

Really, really enjoying this.
Totally impressed.

And it's really beautiful.

DSC_1789.jpg

Here's the customization.
I specifically asked for S/N "007" with "From Russia with Love" inscription on the top part of the cups.

7 is my favorite number, by the way, and "From Russia With Love" is one of my favorite 007 songs.
After all, if there is anyone who would be appropriate for doing this customization for me, it's the Russian Kennerton.

With her big sister, the Odin Mk2 (well, I see Purple Heart headphones as female; regardless of names).

DSC_1820.jpg

And, I don't know if this had became obligatory for me or not, but with a pair of boots that match the color the closest,
it has to be the 'Burgundy CXL (Chromexcel) leather'.

Early impression (after 5 hours of listening).

Stock pads: Fun. Fun. Fun. Also very musical and spot-on for delivering emotionality of the music. Definitely "slightly V-shape". And, man, the bass is really addictive! I totally concur the frequency response @eric65 posted a while earlier. The bass goes deep, fast, and impactful. That mid-bass bump for stock pads really make it fun without being bloat. And I just can't have enough of its bass. (One of my reference for 'bass' would be Fostex TH900). Oh, did I mention the 'Fun'?

Perforated pads: Definitely flatter and more neutral. But somehow, to me at least, lost that bass-magic. I swapped them back to stock just after 20 minutes.

I think it will become my go-to headphones for working late at night. With the enjoyment and musical-emotion the Rognir could deliver even without me focusing on the music, I can definitely fully enjoy the music while focusing on my work.

WOW! :)

The new James Bond will be Thai.

Welcome to the personalized Kennerton Rögnir (closed-back planar headphones) RG-007 well-named "From Russia with Love" of our friend Dave (@ithilienrp), on head-fi.

RG for "Renseignements Généraux" (*) in French.

How do you like the new headband compared to the previous version?

Let see.
I like the newer headband (of the Wodan, GH, Thekk, newer Vali, etc) for comfortability, but not so much for its look.
I like the original headband (of the Odin, Thror, original Vali) for looks, and could live with its comfortability.

The Rognir headband is kinda 'best of both world'.

100% of comfortability of the newer headband, because the 'self-adjusting part' is the same.
80-90% of the original headband look and feel.

Although I think it would be nicer if it's just plain leather sewed at the edge rather than the buttons on the top.

But this is also nice. I might grow to like it more.

Also, part of the reason I think the original is loved by many, me included, is a somewhat "sophisticate and unique look" of the adjusting mechanism, and also a narrow-down shape of the hinge compared to the upper part of the headband, giving the "tighter and sexier waist" look.

DSC_1820-2.jpg

I would also say it looks better in person than in photos.

So, for this reason, I think it's a win.
I like it. So much better than the naked metal bands.

How's the subbass and impact vs the TH900? :)

I'm also waiting to see what the Abyss Closed back will be like, but the Rognir looks very very nice.

those are gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lots of luck with them!
speaking of that band and not to take away from amazing purple heart 007 edition ithilienrp gorgeous Rognir - I totally hear you about the look of that "original style" band it looks so dam nice! New one on Rognir looks very cool as well but must be much lighter and more comfortable - always innovating at Kennerton
Just found this on Kennerton Thor...
