Near the end is a star rating system. What does "Interest" refer to?

Oh, and what is the difference between red stars and blue stars--just out of curiosity? (Or maybe they're just alternating red and blue to be more "colorful"?)

In french, one of the definitions of the word "Interest" is : What, in something, in someone, retains attention by its value, its importance.

Yes, the red and blue stars are just alterning to be more "colorful" and cosmetic.

Otherwise, in addition to the review of the Kennerton Vali, on the magazine On-mag.fr,

You can also read, from the same author (Pierre Stemmelin):

the review of the Kennerton Odin,
https://www.on-mag.fr/index.php/top...r-kennerton-odin-le-tsar-audiophile-de-russie

the rewiew of the Hifiman HE-1000,

the review of the EnigmAcoustics Dharma D1000,

and the review of the Focal Utopia,
https://www.on-mag.fr/index.php/top...-nouvelles-references-pour-l-electrodynamique

Note that only the Odin headphone gets 5 stars out of 5 for the Sound Quality / musicality.
The Utopia has, on the other hand, 5 stars out of 5 for the technical note (which has not been evaluated for the Odin).

Hi friends, subscribers to the Kennerton thread.

Do you like the French language and the Russian language?
  (Silence of death ...

)

Uh, if you know how to use google (or Bing) translate, well, I invite you to read these last two reviews on the Kennerton headphones released this very day (2 February 2017).

.....

And on the Kennerton Odin, by the magazine Hi-News.ru : https://hi-news.ru/audio/obzor-naushnikov-kennerton-odin-teper-i-iz-drevesiny-iggdrasilya.html

Cleg, in this russian review (above) of the Kennerton Odin (your review with your personal headphone?), I agree with your analysis of this high-end russian planar headphone, both for the choice of its construction and the "choice" of its designers for its very pleasant and natural sound, as well as the choice of the right balance for his tonality "the middle way"; not too bright, not too dull; not too analytical, but sufficiently detailed; not too dynamic and / or aggressive in a frequency domain, but sufficiently dynamic and expressive to be felt like a very alive and natural headphone; finally the choice from a well proportioned soundstage.

The philosophy of "Old School and Hi-Fi Vintage" with an "analog sound", for the Odin headphone, I really like.

This headphone presented in this review (above) is superb, especially in this splendid delivered wooden in Karelian Birch (the 3rd copy for this quality of wood?) which is so well adapted to the Odin, of Nordic origin, do not forget

.

In the main complaints that can be made to this headphone: its price, though "softer", but still high for the Russian market and Ukrainian. Its weight; indeed 200 grams less would be a more appreciable.

That's why we hope very much about the future planar Kennerton (announced for 2017?) as cheaper than the Odin, and probably also lighter.
But as we say at home, it's difficult to have butter and the butter money; This will be perhaps at the expense of the materials used and, in particular, the beautiful cups in wood, in particular those, truly superb, in Amaranth wood, Karelian Birch and Bubinga which we are very pleased with.

Yeah Patrick, eric was referring to us private citizens who are happy Kennerton owners :)  Perhaps a Head-Fi Montreal meet (again) is in order...

eric, thanks for illuminating the Russian review. Good observations there.

Personally though, since the distribution is right, I don't mind the weight at all-- in fact I kind of like it. It really adds to the rugged, durable, and substantial quality of it. It fact the Odin reminds me of the exquisite build quality of my old 1977 Alembic bass (I used to play the bass). Putting that thing on was like putting on a baby grand piano! Here's a pic of me with the bass from the mid '90's, just to get a sense of what I'm talking about:

Curiously, the only other owner of that bass was the bass player of Bob Hope's orchestra! Old Skool...

I agree about the good weight distribution with the Odin, better than with the LCD3, for example.

Nice pic (Nb: does not become music lover, who wants

)

Note: bass guitar is perfectly reproduced with the Odin, up to 40 Hz, without loss of level: the texture of the bass and the rapidity of their reproduction are perfect.

Otherwise, I hope greatly an official distribution of the Kennerton brand in Canada and the USA.
A question of time, probably.

For now, New Yorkers should discover the Odin ("old wood" version) and the Vali at the CanJam NYC.

I'm totally agree with this Eric.
I listen a lot of Jazz and Fusion Jazz music and bass is my favorite instrument. I, also, listen to bass players albums (Nathan East, Marcus Miller or Mitsuru Sutoh for example) and i find that Odin is absolutely perfect for this kind of music. It seems to pick the best of tubey sound and the best of dynamic ss sound, fusioning them into one amazing sound flavor..
It brings to me a touch of warm, a lot of details and clarity and superb transitions between bass and mid-bass frequencies.Closing my eyes and i can see the strings vibrations...what a pleasure !
Clearly and definitely, this headphone is my made for my taste : thanks to Kennerton again for it.
