Thanks !

In the same sequence.

Munich High-End 2017 (and 2016).

Who does not like to be photographed with the Odin?

Surely not the brands Viva audio, Auris, Metaxas Marquis, Violectric, Cayin ...
(Note: see the very beautiful pictures in previous pages)

And most recently Etalon Sound.

By the way, did anyone join the Massdrop for the Vali? Mind posting some pics when they arrived?
IMG_20170518_153928695.jpg

Here are mine! I got in on the previous Massdrop. I've posted a couple times in the Vali thread about my experiences with them. They have quickly become my favorite headphones sound wise. So much so that I'm thinking of looking into the Magister in the future.

A beauty :)

Oh, by the way, are you GeorgeT in Massdrop (I'm guessing from your name here)? I'm "rawitat" in that website, and I was the one suggesting the headband bending, the one that you replied in comment :)

Yes, that would be me. I'm not the most imaginative when it comes to making up names anymore. :o2smile:

Same here. Head-Fi is an exception for me since I registered in 2005 when I was still imaginative. Massdrop is new so you can figure my real name quite easily :p

About the headphone of a person named Rawitat (unknown for me (smile)), seen on the web this very beautiful headphone Odin.

Decidedly, this Odin in amaranth wood is very charming; very classy. I like it !

Kennerton Vali and Odin (and other headphones) at the Sound Days 2017 (show in Paris); feedbacks (and new pics), in french.
Report by fabaaroan (on TN): http://www.tellementnomade.org/news-le-salon-sound-days-2017/

Excerpts from the report (above) on the Kennerton headphones present at the Sound Days in Paris.
Translation test.

" I change the chair and then put on an Odin connected on the Viva Egoista 2A3 amp. At the last show I did not appreciate his listening, but as I am stubborn I try again. Impressive. A quality of bass and a midrange who are stunning. This proposed texture is exceptional and is perfectly suited to my tastes, slightly colored (more than the Abyss in mids and treble). Well I understand better why it has a remarkable successe now!
I think that the disappointment of the last salons may have belonged to music used (a CD of rock put by another visitor, with sound rendering probably too congested (too compressed ?)).

Then I continue in the range and try the Vali which is much more energetic. A little too much for my taste. Warning, the rendering is also technically very good but it swing (move) a little too much for me. I've then alternate the two Viva 2A3 amps and Auris HA2 with the Vali and Odin headphones. The Auris seems straighter and much more neutral than the Viva which on its side offers more mater, more seating, especially in the low, and more thickness in the mids."

EarSonics EM10
Cowon Plenue 2
Onkyo DP-S1
Kennerton Odin

Otherwise: " Auris HA-2 и Odin - этого достаточно для нирваны. Лучшего сочетания вы и не найдете
smile000.gif
Эти двое раскрывают друг друга на все 100%.
И кстати, как мне рассказали, наши Одины с недавних пор стали основными тестовыми наушниками у производителя Auris))) "

Translate :
"Auris HA-2 and Odin are enough for Nirvana. The best combination; You will not find two items that reveal each other at 100%
And by the way, as I was told, our Odins recently became the main test headphones of the Auris manufacturer".

So the Auris HA2 SE amp (an 2 K amp), the best possible combination to achieve Nirvana with the Odin?

Maybe yes?

or not ... (smile)

Unless you spend even more money with the Viva 2A3 amp (for the charm and magic of 2A3 tubes) or with the most expensive amp with the Viva Egoista 845 (for the rigor and exceptional performance of the 845 tubes)

Note the two excellent cables used with the Odin in this picture, above:
- on the left, in gray, the cable Vectura C in Litz wire, handmade and distributed by Pierre Paya (in France), giving even more clarity, "cleanliness" and transparency to the sound of the Odin, especially in the high (treble) for the clarity, and in the low for "cleanliness", compared to the already very good cable Kennerton stock of the Odin (better, for example than the stock cable of the Audeze LCD3F)
- on the right, in black, the improved version of the Kennerton cable for the Odin, recognizable with its silver-colored cable divider, also in Litz wire (Russian military grade); the improvement of clarity and transparency of this improved Kennerton cable is located between the Vectura C cable in Litz wire (from P Paya) and the Kennerton stock cable (not Litz wire) delivered with the Odin.

"achieve Nirvana with the Odin?"

Yes!

But with this dream amplifier, alas inaccessible (by the price) for most of us ...

... the superlative Viva Egoista 845 amp (an 12.5 K amp!)

In fact no!

A much cheaper amplifier is enough.

EDIT

My Nirvana set, this morning, at home ...

862204ddddd.jpg

My Nirvana set:

For the day: with the Odin and the Viva 2A3 amp to listen, for example these CDs: "The Cranberries", "Dire Straits", "Nolwenn Leroy" and "L.E.J".
For the evening (and tomorrow night): with the Odin and the Matrix M Stage amp to watch these movies (on my TV Pana 65"): "Passengers" and/or "Rogue One" (one of the best movie of the Star Wars series) or "Arrival" (Premier Contact) or a much romantic movie with the "Silver Linings Playbook" (Happiness Therapy VOST) or the "Doctor Zhivago"

EDIT (again)

Hi all.

What are the news about Kennerton ?

Here the link with the latest comments about the (very well appreciated) Odin, on the HCFR forum.
http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/...rton-fischer-audio-inside-t30059943-6330.html

In particular read the post of Agnostic1er summarizing very concisely the assets of this headphone.
http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/post179234344.html#p179234344
Translation of this post:
"Yep, great choice!
The Odin does indeed offer a balanced restitution on all types of music and recording qualities, without it never becoming aggressive. Few of its competitors arrive at this type of balance without proposing a dark tone (-> Audeze). The absence of focus of a register, especially in the high-medium and the treble, make it appear as undemonstrative from the standpoint of subjective dynamics and the ultimate resolution ... but it is only an appearance (a sensation); the true dynamic is well there and the details too; its strength being a level and a remarkable damping in the bottom of the spectrum (in the low) (except the sub-bass, too light) giving a remarkable sound density that I did not find on any of its direct competitors. His soundstage and sound plans are not very demonstrative but natural, with quality amplifiers and sources (technical, not necessarily in price)."

Ah, I forgot: Welcome to Davis in the family Kennerton. :)

hey guys, is there any audio experience difference between varnished wood and natural wood? Would one be more durable than the other? Or is it simply a matter of aesthetics?

Thanks

Hi,

It's just a matter of aesthetics.

The headphones Kennerton Odin (and Vali) being open, the quality of the matter of the cups wood does not play on the sound (no influence).
Personally I own two Odin: one in mat varnished wood (Sapele), and the other lacquered in brilliant color (Karelian birch).
The quality of construction of my two Odin is very good (not a single piece of plastic) and the wood is conserved very well with time (as well as varnish or lacquer).
