Should be fine!

They don't. A very good used option is the SRM-1 MKII. I personally use that at home.
I had tried the iESL last year at CanJam SoCal. It was not at CanJam but at a private event after the show ended, I was not in the position to really assemble my thoughts as I was engaged socially. Just a disclaimer.

I didn't particularly like the iESL, it didn't seem to power the Headphones that well. I suggest the STAX 353X or an SRM-1 MKII with a "Normal Bias" socket if you decide to indulge in Vintage STAX at a later date. If you really want to throw a lot of cash, then go KGSSHV.

Does the SRM-1 MK2 have to have a pro bias slot or is the dual normal bias version okay?

You can plug into the Normal Bias with decreased sensitivity. The D/S gap is for 580V.

I suggest the SRM with PRO and Normal both as that's quite useful for vintage STAX as well. I used to use it for my SR-1, SR-5, Sigma and NB Lambdas. Although, don't get the time anymore.
I could be wrong but, I think these PRO and Normal Bias SRMs were mostly sold in the EU market. So, it's worth checking in those regions. I had bought mine from Germany many years ago.

Thx for the quick response. I was gifted a SRM-1 MK2 but it has no pro bias slot. I didn't want to plug in the RR1 since I wasn't sure if it could damage them.

How can the RR1 5 pin plug into a normal bias 6 pin?

Alright just in case this helps anyone, I'll give my quick 2 cents on some "budget" amps I've tried. They're the SRM-252S, SRM 1/1MKII non Pro, SRM-D10 and SRM-353X.

The 252s is the worst. The best way I can describe the sound is blander and they can't power the RR1's to the volume level I like. Keep in mind that I say blander when comparing amps as the RR1's still sounds great but doesn't reach its full potential. I'd avoid it honestly and save money for a better amp.
The D10 sounded great but once I turned up the volume I would get horrible distortion. I really wanted to keep it for the portability but the distortion was too much.
The 1MKII sounded just as good as the 353X but was by far the quietest. It didn't have a pro bias slot though so I'm guessing that's the reason.
Finally the 353X is just wonderful. I can get it to go loud and everything would still be crystal clear. I really tried to convince myself to settle for one of the others since I didn't want to pay damn near twice the amount of the headphones but I can't go back.

So I'd say 353X>1MKII>D10>252S.
If the 1MKII really was volume handicapped by not having the Pro Bias slot then I'd say get an 1MKII Pro version instead of the 353X. When I compared them at lower volumes I really couldn't tell which was better.

I've been using the 353X as well. Nice amp, works with harder to drive electrostats like the RR1 and DanClarkAudio Voce.

Interesting... I was eyeing the D10 as secondary DAC/Amp for its portability (within the house). Do you have other headphones in addition to RR1 that you tested with the D10?
I am curious if the D10 is just bad, or whether the RR1 is just more challenging to drive properly?
Anyone else here with experience using the D10 ?

It was the same for the L300s and those are easy to drive. I tried everything under the sun to fix it. Used another dacs and another computer to no avail. Using digital or analog didn't change it. Keep in mind that this was only an issue at high volumes. Lower volumes were clean. I like to turn it up so it was a deal breaker for me. If you like to keep it quite at all times then it's a good amp.

My RR1 is driven by SRM-007tA just enough power.
Enough means I must dial volume wheel to 3'clock or more.
I want to use in 1'clock or near by but 007tA doesnt have such power.
On paper its output 340V max, 580V bias.

That is quite high on the volume pot, I need to use 11 or 12'clock on my 353X with the RR 1. I am using balanced xlr inputs, haven't really tried rca interconnects yet.
