Hi guys.

So Newegg blows and they made a mistake with inventory and they hadn't sent out my JVC HARX900 that I ordered. While they were polite, the fact that I've had to deal with their customer support umpteen times makes it not worth it to order from them again. (Let's not go into a discussion about them, I'm going to order from Amazon where I've had no issues at all).

I remembered when I first posted that someone said that the people on the forums prefer the HARX700 over the HARX900, and I was wondering if that's true.

Which is better? What is the main difference between the 900 and the 700 (apart from the price obviously)?

Thanks.

In stock form, I would agree that the RX700 sounded better than the RX900. Much better to my ears. However, after recabling and modding both, I prefer the RX900 over the RX700. They are very close, with the edge in soundstage and detail going to the RX900. Whether you plan to mod them or not, the RX700 is probably the best way to go.

Out of the box, 700 > 900 (after burn-in, too). After mods, 900 > 700. Then again, I prefer a bassier sound, and it's much more comfortable.

That is true. Sound stage is larger on the 900s too. You must tweak them but the mods are easy except for recabling.

I get your quote hans. I even know where it came from. lol

After going through both the HARX900 and HARX700 mod thread some have concluded that the HARX700 respond better to the mods.
