JVC HA-SZ2000/1000 Impressions Thread

I know what Jvc is thinking , I had the fxz200 limited edition when it came out and burned them in for 1300 plus hrs and they were still improving back then. I really care for headphones because of the weight and all but all the hype of it being the bassking made me regret my decision until now.

Why use EQ , I havent used EQ ever since I join way back in the days . Plus my phone should be good enough

Mochill, it's good to see it in this thread. I know that you like heavy bass iems. Believe me, to be able to enjoy these cans to the maximum and get them all their potential, it is necessary, no, forced I would say, amplify them and a little bit of eq. If he does not, he would be missing out on all the fun and the best experience of the king of heavy bass cans so far.

I miss my S2k sometimes.... Not enough to spend $300+ for a pair though, lol.

But, I just wanted to let y'all know, the best pads I ever had on them are the MrSpeakers Alpha Pads. Big comfort, BIG bass, and that worn in leather feel. I had tried the HM5 pads, in pleather, hybrid, and sheepskin, as well as ZMF Calf skin, and the Alpha pads beat them in all areas. They aren't cheap though.

Alpha pads on the JVC, HM5 in the middle, ZMF on the right.

I agree about Mr. speakers. I was afraid were too big, but I prefer them over hm5, maybe for the angle there is better image and middle are 'ok'.

Finally bought a pair of SZ2000 from japan with alpha pads. The bass quality is indeed quite incredible.

However, the leather around the handband cushion is peeling off, I wonder if there are any quick fixes to it? Are there any amazon handband covers that can fit the SZ2000?

thanks!

Hey dude, thanks for that idea. As the headband has been peeling away on my cans and keeps dropping black stuff in my hair, and thats annoying lol. I took your idea and found something that might be even better, at the very least probably easier to install anyways. What do you think of this?

Yeah that would work too, I bought one of those woolen ones from China last year for like £3 and its been great for me as I spend a lot of time at my pc with my Sennheiser PC37x headset on I didint wanna ruin the headband too quick.

They're machine washable too, and don't get dirty that quick. It doesn't have a zip, but snap-buttons instead.

Hey guys, i never got used to the HA-SZ1000, even with a Fiio Mont Blanc it could not get the sound i wanted from it so i decided to sell it. I live in Canada (Ottawa) and i thought this thread would be a good place to find someone interested in this specific model.

I am a new member so i have to wait 30 days to create an actual thread in the Sale forum, but please contact me if you are interested, not sure if we have many people from Canada here, e bet we do :)

Cheers

Z-Reviews hated them instantly, but I think its fare to note that he didn't bother to EQ them, he was listening to the cans flat as they were, with only running them through a headphone amp.

Hey guys, i am trying to sell my SZ1000 and i just got an offer for CAD$100, i keep thinking it is a very low price for these and mine specifically have like 50 hours on them and no cosmetic marks at all.

For those who sold theirs, how much do you think they are really worth? Or is CAD$100 a good price?

Cheers

I'd say that's a little low. Cheapest I can find the SZ1k for is $110 USD, so around $145 CAD.
