Yeah I'd figured that as the S500's are a big upgrade over the FX101's anyway. What are the bass levels like on these compared with the 101's though?

The bass from the fxz stock would be like, putting the 101 into an E11 and turning on the bass boost. Even then the fxz would have deeper rumble and possibly more punch.  That whole subwoofer thing is real, and not marketing tactics like i thought.  I don't think you're going to FEEL bass like this on another IEM.
Amped, these fxz's become a totally different beast.

I honestly can't put the bass boost on my E11 on lvl2 with these.  With the cks77 (which has more bass than the 101) I wouldn't even dream of taking it off of lvl2, and if I was good with EQ i'd EQ in more bass with the 77's.  I honestly think I'm done searching for IEM's until they make another 2driver+subwoofer type.

I just got a silver plated LOD so I can finally listen to these through my C&C BH and my iPhone and seriously, these FXZ100's have turned into a whole different animal.  I was previously listening to them through a clip+ and the BH, and this new setup has changed them completely.  Sooooo much more awesome

I had the 200's and although the sub bass was impressive, after owning the Earsonics SM64, the SM64s do sub bass much more impressively which I didn't think was possible. Not a fair fight though as the SM64's cost $500. I sold off the 200's but since the 100's have dropped to $140 I'm tempted to pick up a pair. Also have a C&C BH coming. Definately a good time for the IEM market.

Any suggestions for an amp for fxz200s fellow head-fiers?

Leckerton UHA-6S MKII Portable Headphone Amplifier, is very good, and drives them quite well, and has a good dac and swappable op amps - Mine works great with both the 100s and 200s.  The ALO RX2 also works quite nicely.

Hi fzman,
Can you share some impressions of the Leckerton UHA-6S mkII + 200. I'm planning to buy the Leckerton UHA-6S mkII

Hi Ratfarm,
Do you think sm64s are the upgrade from 200?

Hi Ratfarm,
Do you think sm64s are the upgrade from 200?

Absolutely. I enjoyed the 200's but found the upper mids to be harsh on female vocals and soundstage too narrow. The SM64s cure all that and then some.
