Hi Newbie here

After reading a lot of reviews here on head-fi I bought myself a pair of JVC HA-FX101 (nice one)

I have nothing to compare the sound quality to (and I don't yet have the decernment to know good from bad) So I am looking to buy something else. I was reading about other cheapies that people liked. Two that stood out were: JVC earphone HA-FX40  and  Philips SHE 3580

I might end up buying both (?) but before I do, I notice the posts I was reading were almost 1 year old, so I thought it a good idea to ask you guys if these are still 'choice,' or has 2012 oversadowed these with even stronger contenders in the cheepie price range.???

Thanks everyone. (this is such a wonderful resource)

Try the Philips SHE 3580, deep punchy subwoofer bass at decent volume, its cheap and well worth the money, but don't expect much from it when you are using at high volume levels, as the sound quality gets bad, drivers start to crackle and distort. Give it a try and compare it to the FX-101, see which you think is the better one?
