JH Audio's continued collaboration with A&K: Introducing Layla & Angie

Is it necessary to partner with Astell & Kern and showing up to consumers if that is purposely for studio use?

Well, it can be, why not, at least it sounds professional... :0

+1 to that. I guess you can partner with AK to include the cables but I hate the AK print on the earphones. Wish they had kept the lady emblem only.

Anyone knows when the pre-orders starting and from where?

I guess you just have to go into it assuming Layla will not be their long term flagship, then make your choice based on that assumption.

Yeah, buyer beware. For JHA, it's an unfortunate case of once bitten, twice shy, for some customers, I suppose.

I agree. I'm not fond of the AK logo at all. The flying lady is elegant and iconic.

Jaben HK told me that there should be demo of Layla around 20/1 ~ 21/1.
But due to some issue I will go to ECT (the agent of JH Audio Layla and Angie in HK) tmr, I will ask them if they can let me try the Layla as I know that they already have it in their office. Hope I can try it.

So any others have tried the demo of Layla and compared it to other TOTL earphone? I've tried it few days before in HK Jaben for almost an hour. IT SOUNDS AWESOME! The tuning for me sounds a bit like between Roxanne and K10. It's neutral, sounds not as warm and dark as the Roxanne, a bit brighter and clearer but still maintain the JH sound signature. The soundsatge of Layla is definitely huge, feels very 3D. The vocal of Layla is clearly more upfront and slightly thicker then the Roxanne, also having better resolution. Overall I can hear more details on the Layla then the Roxanne. personally I prefer Layla over K10
I would like to see more people compare Layla to other good CM like the se5way. heir 10, etc...

Thanks for your impressions!

How would you describe the clarity and detail on the Layla in comparison with the K10? I understand that you prefer the Roxanne and the Layla over the K10, but how would the Layla compare sonically with Noble's flagship? Thanks in advance.
