JH Audio Layla Impressions Thread

Any hiss issues with the Hugo2? There was an old post with Hugo1 mentioning slight hiss, but could not find anything related to hiss with the Hugo2. Would be great to get an 'no hiss' confirmation with the Hugo2 in that is the case. Thxs.
Can confirm no hiss with this pairing.

Are Layla's tougher to drive than the Roxanne?
I don't remember there being a noticeable difference when I tried them back to back. According to the specs the Layla is slightly harder to drive.

That would make sense as I drove both as I demo'd them straight out of my phone to which the Roxanne sounded better. But if I used the Hugo 2, the Layla should scale very well, compared to the Roxanne, not really being able to scale with the Hugo 2.

I demoed the A18t and noticed that sounded better by about 20-25% than tia fourte.

A18t vocals sound a bit more clearer than Roxanne.

Roxanne base has more bump, more bass than A18t. Sound on Roxanne overall sounded fuller. But the Layla should take things to the next level with a Hugo 2 pairing.

I'm not sure on how they scale but I loved the sound of both out of my DX150.

I know when I tried the Legend X with the Hugo 2 i was very impressed. They scale really well.

I'd get the Layla over the A18t as well as a CIEM as it should sound well as well as the aesthetics being better as well as a lot of customization options compared to 64.
I tried the u12t. It was VERY good but the Layla really wowed me at CanJam. Here is the design I picked for my custom:

I have both Laylas and Roxannes and can confirm that Roxannes are easier to drive. I think Layla’s + Hugo 2 would be amazing. I’m actually getting rid of my Layla’s because I find that 90% of my listening time is on the go via my phone only so the Roxannes are better for me. Love them both.

Cool. I'm actually thinking to get the Layla's for the portability factor with my phone and possibly a dap with a hugo 2, and for at home a Hifiman headphone.

I may actually just get the Roxanne with my phone or DAP, just for that portability factor, and use a Hifiman headphone for home usage.
