very nice! Thanks! My Oratory prfile for the Arya Organic has two low shelf filters, that's why I asked. Keep on your great work! I already love the this product and its features!

Indeed. Philosophically, given what we know about how measurements for headphones vary based on the fixture they're taken on (and, by extension, the FR will vary on different heads) I think there's a large argument for wider band shelf filters to address general tonal features on headphones, rather than trying to get a precise result with relatively narrow band peak filters.

I'm speaking here about EQ filters designed to be shared out and customized.

Someone with enough time and expertise could use very precise filters to customize a headphone to their head. But as a general rule, I think the more narrow those adjustments are the more likely they may not achieve the same result for others.

TLDR: an extra low shelf and high shelf filter would be nice!

A common way I might use two high shelf filters, for example, would be to broadly address the ear gain region in the upper mids (I tend to prefer at least a few dB less than Harman) while also boosting or lowering the upper treble, depending on whether the headphone is treble hot or treble deficient.

would be a cool feature, I assume i'm not the only one that switches devices for work during the day.

ohhh i misunderstood this. the extra presets are saved to the cloud, so they do follow you between computers. Perfect, i have no further requests then. No need to save multiple presets to device for my use case.

Also I just received my element 4 in the mail.

First impression is that the knob is a big step up from v3. Feels much sturdier, the side to side stability is better and I feel like it has just a tiny bit more resistance when spinning which feels more premium.

They can also power my he6se v2's with a hefty bass shelf, which is no small feat :joy:

Love the core eq so far.

Great product :beerchug:

guys one stupid question:

I want to connect two devices (pc and Ipad) to my Element IV via USB-C. Can I simply buy a USB-C splitter and whatever device is on connects to the Element?

That should work! I have my Element IV connected to a USB hub for switching between my personal PC and work computer. Works like a charm. I’d imagine same results with a splitter.

Wow! I picked one of these up to use as a "cool running" alternative to my gungnir2 gsx-mini when its hot in the summer. First and foremost, it runs pretty warm. Significantly cooler than the other devices listed but it is toasty. The good thing is that it sounds amazing. Ive been comparing it to the other stack and the differences are a bit hard to pick out, considering the cost difference Im really impressed. Ive had several cheaper dacs and amps in the past and this is by a long shot the best Ive heard in this price range. Switching to the gsx mini fed by the gungnir and there is a bit more detail in the highs resulting in a bit of a less fatiguing presentation. Not that the element is fatiguing, but by comparison the highs are a bit harsher. As far as "space" and all that I wouldnt have a hard time distinguishing between the two. There's probably an advantage to the gsx/gungnir stack in separation but again its not by a huge amount. Im curious if over time the differences will become more or less apparent, either way Im very pleased with this piece of gear.

New user, stupid question:

Element iv does not have an auto turn on/off feature. It does have a "turning off LED after 5 mins inactive usb". Is it sufficient enough as an alternative option for auto turn off, or I should really shut it down over the weekend? I use it in office.

Thanks

While there is no wrong answer here, I recommend powering off if you plan to leave the desk for more than a day.
