JDS Labs Element 4 Released

They are both great devices. Sound wise, I think I can't tell a difference. I like the clean look of the Element and the abikity to change and store settings via browser and easily upgrade the firmware.

With the RME I liked the ability to change the bass/hights with just the knobs.

You can't go wrong with bioth. I would go for the cheaper one. If you buy the Elemnt, get the Synapse USB isolator too.
luckily i already have a usb isolator.
ideally , for my needs, i wish JDS would release a EL dac compatible with core app as i dont really need an amp.

Wonder if you can you save multiple eq profiles to the core web app. Would be nice to be able to have profiles saved for several different headphones.

Just ordered one of these, excited to try it out. Love my el 3.

edit: just watched golden sounds review, and i do spy some saved presets

You can and I do exactly that. You then just click the preset and it’ll change settings instantly.

do you know if they are saved to the device or if they are saved in the web browser?
One EQ profile can be stored on the device and the rest online only.

For now. On-device switching of profiles is already confirmed as a feature for a future update.

would be a cool feature, I assume i'm not the only one that switches devices for work during the day.

Incidentally, that is my exact use case for being able to switch profiles from the device itself.

More EQ bands are coming! One of our firmware developers optimized DSP processing this month, revealing more processing power than we initially believed.
wow! Very good news!

Edit:
Will it be possible to change the type of the bands or at least move the lowshelf highshelf to different position?

Yes, you can already reposition the Lowshelf and Highshelf bands. Think of the band numbers as arbitrary labels, not fixed positions. Here's my Focal profile, for example:

The next firmware update will support 12 filters to accommodate the bulk of oratory1990 profiles. We have weeks of feature requests ahead and will revisit filter selection after completing the current goals. In the meantime, though, you can enable/disable or reposition any band as needed.

Fantastic news!

This will greatly increase ease of use for importing profiles!

10 is a good number in many ways, but having to decide which filters to eliminate or reapproaching how to address an issue (with one wider Q band filter rather than several smaller filters, for example) was a bit of a hassle!

very nice! Thanks! My Oratory prfile for the Arya Organic has two low shelf filters, that's why I asked. Keep on your great work! I already love the this product and its features!
