The 3m stuff works fairly well. I used it for dampening my old sony mdr-z7 and have used it for the t2 mods and once on the OH10 but the OH10 became murder bass cannons. Will try it on the EA1 if you'd like. Just got the replacement today and no rattles so it's getting burned in currently.

EDIT: I can confirm they work just fine with the 3m tape over the vent closest to the driver. lil baby bass monsters now. Doesn't sound bloated which is nice. Still need to let these burn at least a few days before a final assesment.
Yes. Micropore tape over the main vent is the way to go with these. 100% no question.

I had a good long listening session with these last night and I really like this set as an "intro to Beryllium" (with the tape on the vents). A steal for $30 that competes with my other Beryllium sets.

I'm convinced that Beryllium coating and Beryllium as a DD material isn't just a passing fad and is here to stay. I like my Beryllium sets much more than the DLC or CNT sets I've heard. They have a more pleasant timbre and imaging ability than other types for me and obviously the bass is fantastic. The whole frequency range is very smooth and uncongested with a Beryllium DD in comparison to the other types of DDs. Vocals are almost as good as planars on Beryllium sets when done right. (I also think I pinpointed the reason I think the IMR Rah sounds a bit rough in the mids to me, and that's because it lacks a crossover so you're hearing some of the mids from the Beryllium DD and overlapping the planar, so those two are giving you somewhat conflicting auditory information).

I'm interested to hear the ibasso IT00 because the design focuses a lot more on the magnet and thinness of the diaphragm over the material used in the diaphragm. Be interesting to see how that competes with the Beryllium sets out there....

anyone know if these are better tonally than the fd1? I've heard that the fd1 are lacking severely in low end
Dear friend,

The unit of the EA1 and FiiO FD1 is almost same, but the cable for FD1 is theoretically better than the EA1.

The horn unit of EA1 is 10mm fully beryllium plated single moving coil, and the entire diaphragm is beryllium plated with a smoother medium and high frequency connection, the thin, light and rigid metallic beryllium ensures very low sound distortion, which mixed with the excellent middle and high frequency analysis of EA1.At the same time, the magnet structure is a dual magnetic circuit structure of internal and external dual magnets, with a high magnetic flux close to 1 Tesla, which brings a strong driving force. The excellent speed sense and transient response also make a excellent low frequency performance completely of the EA1.

Best regards

Just got these for $30 from amazon, and I'm seriously impressed. It sounds slightly V-shaped to me (vs Etys). The bass is well extended and punchy, mids prominent and clear, and treble just a bit sparkly. In comparison to the Blons BL-01, the bass is weaker/less overwhelmingly though the mids are much more pronounced (less overwhelmed by bass) and the treble actually recognizable (significantly less grainy).

EDIT: Also I really like long the nozzle on these are (especially vs the blons). It allows you to go small tip and deep etymotic style or bigger tip and not so deep. Plus the sides that face your ear are also rounded so theres not too many issues with positioning.
