Hi, I've just purchased the Jaben ES8 Cables to replace my stock UE cables for my triple fi 10s. However the music sounds absolutely distorted when I'm playing it. Sometimes only the music is heard, and the vocals can't be heard. (When I listen to metal/ screamo). When playing softer music such as Coldplay, the vocals can be heard, but the music is still very distorted. When I plug back my UEs to my old stock cables, everything sounds just fine. Am I supposed to burn in the new cables? Or is this a defect? ( I've tried both ES8 cables I got since i got the 2 for 1 deal and they both sound the same) Any help is appreciated. Thanks

1.  Wouldn't hurt the cables to burn them in, then you'd know if that was the problem.
2.  Maybe you plugged them in wrong?  I haven't tried plugging my TF10 cables in backwards, but some have reported that it sounds funny that way.

Best of luck.

I tried switching the cables around, and they still sound the same. However I did notice that when I have one of the earphones unplugged, the other one sounds much more clearer, but the volume drops very low, even when fully turned up on my iPod. One i reconnect the other earphone, the sound returns being distorted.

Sounds like a short - poorly made/bad cable. I would ask for an exchange.

^ It is best to get them replaced. It has to be cable if it is causing distortion.

I didn't expect it to be such low quality since there were quite a bit of positive reviews on this cable on this site

It may be that generally they are quite good - but you just got one bad one that slipped through QC.
