Is the uDAC sufficient enough of an amp+source to drive most high-end IEMs? (i.e. westone es1, westone es2, westone es3, JH____ , Ultimate Ears ___ , LiveWires, etc...)

Edit: I own the uDac...

If it is sufficient as in whether it has enough power, the answer is yes. Most high-end IEM is actually very easy to drive. The headphone-out of the original uDAC is pretty good. but still not a match to a dedicated portable amp. I certainly perfer my 3MOVE and T3D over uDAC's headphone-out. The strength of uDAC is its line-out, but for the asking price I think a it is still great as an semi-desktop setup.

I'd have to agree although the headphone out is a bit colored imo of course but it was still very enjoyable when I had it. You can't really get more transportable than the uDAC for a good external dac for your laptop or netbook.

Of course I've never really owned an earphone that was very hard to drive. The RE0 was the one that wanted the most power but still not that hard to drive.
