Is it true that modded T50RP's (specifically LFF's Paradox mod) is comparable to high end headphones such as the LCD2?

I think they scale up to a certain point yes.  The more revealing the source and amplifier the better as a general statement.  It's not my main priority to get the most out of them, because they just sound so good with minimal equipment.  My HE-500 setup is here to stay as my main desktop setup.  The Paradox for every other use.  I actually use my grados when I cycle though since they're very open and I can hear everything going on around me.  People seem to dig the retro look of the grado since my cycling cap is kinda throwback as well.

hey mind giving me a comparison between he500 and the paradox?

im in no position to buy those yet because im so busy saving up for the fostex hpp1 (you know, dont want the internal ipod dacs and amp to be my limitation to high end audio) but i have a stock fostex t50rp sitting around that is definitely going to be sent for modding, either mad dog or paradox or both. so yes, comparsion please?

I "ordered" mine at the end of July. It took 3 weeks for all the bits to get to him. Then I totally forgot about it until he sent me an email saying they were done. The new website will probably fix all the waiting issues. :)

Huge improvements over the standard one (I never modded it). Will listen to some other headphones later.

Just so you guys know...both my partner and I take our sweet time modifying them but it's only because we care about our work so much. I also take the time to answer A LOT of email and pm's. I spend at least 2 hours a day fielding questions.

If I wanted to turn a huge profit, I'd just mass produce and sell/push it on every new member here. I also wouldn't offer re-cables or paint jobs or removable cables or be willing to work with people to accomplish other options.

As an example:

I had one customers headphone completely finished but there was a slight channel imbalance. While I HIGHLY doubt he would have noticed it, I just binned the finished headphone and ordered a new one and started all over again. Likewise, if we are not happy with the paint finish, we will sand it and start all over again. We have recently just finished building a new paint booth for which we hired a contractor and an hvac specialist. Just the fan and dust filtration system ran my partner over $2000! We have been working on getting this completed to not just speed up time but also to provide a better finish.

We both pour our heart and souls into what we build and we hope you notice it in the resulting sound quality and your happiness level.

As a proud owner of Paradox, I can only say to those waiting -- it will be worth the wait!!!  The more I listen to the my Paradox, the less I listen to any other headphones I own.  I have taken my pair to work, and now rarely listen to headphones at home as my HD-580s and K-701's simply do not compare.

As a final comment to how much I love these headphones - I have placed an order for second set!!
