I'm very excited about the nano. This is exactly what I have been waiting for. The Shuffle, lacking the screen, was a no no for me. The capacity, 4 gigs is VERY nice for on the go, running, the gym etc. I own a 60g iPhoto and it is quite enough for every day use, but I can't move with it for fear of destroying the HD. I have been researching flash devices for when I renew my gym membership in a couple of weeks but with this annoucement I know I'm going to shell out the cash for the 4 gig nano. Since the cost between the 2 and 4 is only $50, I may as well splurge!
The sleekness is exactly what I am looking for. The armband option is perfect as well. I don't need to worry about my music formats (though I would really love it if they went with FLAC as I have quite a few albums in this format) nor about the software to transfer. I own a doc...so everything is really taken care of. Very very nice. Though some may argue that what it offers is not up to snuff of other flash players, and this may be true in many cases, I just don't care. I dig my iPod and this will be a nice addition to the family. Ironically, though I'm not an Apple zealot, nor even a fanboy, I am tending towards their hardware. Reliable, sexy and it just WORKS in a way that is intuitive. I own an older Powerbook and have been eying the Mini like nobody's business. The Mini is out of my budget and needs for now, but this Nano will be funded by my finally gutting my MD collection. Bye bye MD, your time has finally come.
