Oh and yeah I think we'll all be highly pissed if they remove the Lightning port and go all wireless for everything. I actually would leave iPhone if that were the case. No doubt. Which coming from someone who's owned an iPhone since 2007 and nothing else in between, that's really saying something.
Good news good news! Turns out with all that estimated ship date being pushed back BS, my jet black 256gb 7+ shipped today anyway!!! Should have it Monday. Rejoice rejoice!
Thank you brother! I was super stoked and surprised when ATT sent me a text saying my order had shipped! Had to login to ATT to see if it was actually true!
I am, yes. Still on the fence as to what model exactly. Probably the Oppo latest revision. I'm also intrigued by the Peachtree model. Gonna be really expensive though ugh. A black dragon cable is like 80 bucks then on top of the $300 amp/dac.
I wonder if Apple have banned all MFi certified manufacturers from publishing details of the DAC/Amp being used in 3rd party adapters. The Fuze case with adapter doesn't seem to show any specs for the DAC/Amp portion and there are a few 3rd party cable type adapters on Amazon and they don't seem to show specs either.
Are all of the adapters created equal or would some be better than others.
I am not at all knowledgeable on technical matters, but is it possible that LH's results are influenced by the fact that they need to sell their own DACs and thus trying to persuade people to stay away from Apple's dongle?? How is it possible Yuriv's outcome being so much different and in favor of Apple's dongle? Are these results also highly subjective based on each one's tools and machinery, bearing no scientific base whatsoever?

The way in which Ho presents the information makes me doubt about him. Not a word about Zout, no plots of thd+n or imd...just an isolated graph that it's not clear enough to ascertain what is being measured, nor the load or voltage applied.
Plus that guy lab manufactured an iem dubbed as the worst ever by the well known reviewer Cymbacavum.
Yuriv's work is much more comprehensive and my ears are not catching a hint of jitter. And Yuriv is not a competitor of Apple like that Ho, thats sells products that are to replace the dongle.

Larry has more measurements on his FB page. In all other aspects (except z) it matches the HO of the 6. That FFT graph was the only one inferior. So I'd say it's a pretty impressive $9 dongle based on his measurements. Larry is big specs guy. Most LH dac specs are extremely good. BTW, he has measured every version of the iPhone since the 4, if I'm not mistake.

Still if there is jitter in 1k Hz, matter is serious... I thought that audible jitter is a thing of the past, and anymore when presented it is below ear threshold. I remember same matter had come up regarding Apple's airport express, but it got proven that jitter was below ear threshold...

More worryingly, Apple has admitted (maybe not in a press release or anything, but they have to me personally, and I'm sure many others) that the digital audio format for MFi going forward is DIFFERENT than it was before, meaning MFi lightning devices made prior to the iPhone 7 are not guaranteed to work properly with it, as I've noticed first hand with a couple devices.

I did wonder whether or not earlier lightning devices were actually proper audio over lightning or just USB audio class devices with the lighting>USB conversion built in. It wouldn't be good for Apple and their MFi certification programme if MFi certified devices stopped working, it's different for non-certified devices as consumers should have no expectation of Apple support. I know that people are suggesting that USB audio devices are having problems with the original CCK but are working with the USB3 CCK.
If there are problems with earlier MFi lightning devices it should be something Apple can resolve through updates, after all manufacturers will have complied with Apple specs to get the MFi certification.
