iPhone 6s Sound Quality

Thanks - I'm going to still check out a Mojo one of these days!

you should. I haven't heard the bitfrost but there is a strong consensus online that that Mojo cannot be beaten for less then £1000. I had high expectations, on the back of threads such as this one and in no way am I disappointed. I would describe it as being very neutral, musical and gives a fantastic insight into your music. All for £400 ! :)

I am a proud owner of the best DAP in the world - the AK380 Copper Edition. However when it comes to the Mojo, even I can't really tell which one is better, despite that the AK380 Copper Edition is several times more expensive than the Mojo. However the idea of having only one brick rather than having at least two drove me to buy the AK380 Cu instead. Form factor is a witch. YMMV. I don't use the AK380 amp (or Cu amp) though. The amp is mediocre at best, at least during my audition.

All that money and I bet that the difference in SQ between that rig and an iPhone is vanishing small. Sincerely, no offense meant I respect your purchasing decisions.
At this point though I reckon that diminishing returns kick in hard.
At least the AK Cu looks beautiful! (IMO)
I am surprised that you don't use the amp. So you still have a two box solution. Or do I misunderstand you?

So i was told that you can play FLAC on the 6S with the onkyo app.Is that the only app and how do the FLAC files sound?Im in the process of returning my HTC 10 which sounded great but too warm for my liking.I prefer a more neutral/natural sound with a phone that can also play hi res files.

Kaisertone can also play FLAC.

There are several more that come to mind, maybe more.

Anyone who is part of this iPhone 6/6s thread should run and checkout the Arcam MusicBOOST at just £120 / $189. It's a great way to get better sound with not a dangling cable or rubber band in sight (-:

For those who use an iPhone more out of necessity than for its audio quality, the MusicBOOST brings welcome relief. In a nutshell, it converts the iPhone’s mediocre (at best) musical performance into a true audio experience, and for that it should be applauded. Add to this its t-and-forget nature – which ensures you never need be without it when on the move – and the MusicBOOST stands out as an almost essential buy for iPhone 6 users craving better quality sounds.

WRONG: Sorry Kris you are wrong, the current model is designed for and fits both the 6 and 6S. It is very clearly labeled as doing so.

I was told at the Metropolis show, by the Arcam rep, that the 6S is 0.5 thicker than the 6 and that although it will fit it is very tight. I may be wrong but I thought he said that there was a risk of damage to the Boost. Unless maybe the MusicBoost has been retooled since then?

That is historic information Kris, that was January, it is now June, the new 6/6s version was released in April. Please check facts before posting (-:

Where could we see objective measurements for the ARCAM to check if it trumps an iPhone 6 headphone port?

With no data available for the ARCAM to bash the iPhone it's just cheap talking and not a very elegant marketing technique.

What's output impedance for the ARCAM hpo?
