That is crazy, more expensive than a nice laptop. Apple command super high prices. With my LG I can at least have expandable memory whereas you have to buy an Apple phone and be stuck with the ram is came with.

I don't think the Iphone 13 Pro warrants my attention, not much of an upgrade. The only reason I even am buying a phone now is that my hand is being forced by T-mobile. My LG is fine, although I wish LG would send out Android 11.

Hey, you can buy 512 GB on the regular models now. That helps a bit. I had to buy a pro just to get 512 with the previous generation.

I'm on the same boat. I find the iPhone 13 Pro 1tb version excellent for music storage purposes but have to wonder about whether it would work with a big library (not a lot of great software for massive lossless libraries in the App store). Pixel 6 has access to soft such as the UAPP but will they offer any significant storage options to make full use of that? We will know in October.

For lossless you can of course convert to ALAC and upload via itunes ecosystem. But for diehard FLAC types you can use software like HiBy music (free methinks) to play FLAC and DSD to your dongle. I use a combination of that and nPlayer. I also think VLC can do the trick for FLAC (free again) but I don't fool with that. To move things around Apple offers a file utility. A but klunky but it works.

Then again most of the time I use an external DAP.

I use AIFF. It works on any ecosystem. The file size is bigger so it must sound better : )

I ordered an IPhone 13 Pro, got the 256 version, which is enough for me. That is even more than what I had with my LG G8. I will see how it goes. I also fired up my Xduoo X3, it has the latest (for the X3) Rockbox. It still sounds good to me although I know it is antiquated.

I did not want the iPhone 13 pro but I was given a deal where there was no difference in price between the 12 pro and 13 pro, so I went with the newer version. I was also given more money for my LG than what I would have received via FB marketplace or something like Gazelle.

I think AIFF is basically a WAV file with information headers.
