I'd say go to the Trinity Audio Phantom Thread here. The Trinity Audio Vyrus is a slightly more expensive alternative, but almost just as small with removable cables and a tunable filter system so it might have a better chance at hitting the sound signature you want. The Hyperion is pretty v-shaped with pronounced treble and bass, making the mids and some vocals lower on the priority list.

Oh, so that what V-shaped means? I've been wondering.

I'm afraid $40 is as far as my budget can go, so I guess I have to find other brands. Thanks for your help.

Pronounced treble and bass, but at the cost of making mid-range a bit less present so some instruments and vocals can sound underrepresented. Pretty good for EDM and today's pop music IMO. I'd recommend the VSonic VSD3S, but it's not a very durable IEM in my experience and it's just a tiny bit over your budget at about $45. Good luck though.

New here (over from KS)... Everyone there seems to say "if you knew Bob, you wouldn't worry about X or Y", so here I am!

While waiting for the Phantom Air, I ordered the Atlas Deltas with the BT add-on.  The BT module arrived weeks ago and I'm just waiting for the "late December" shipment of the Atlases... I'm hoping that the thread "TRINITY - DELTA HYBRID V II" is the one that covers the ATLAS Delta.

Welcome :)

Hanging around these parts will give a good feel on what you've heard.

I've pre-ordered the Atlas Delta too, having owned both the original Atlas (which gets adequate head time alongside the PM4) and the original Delta which was gifted to a family member, I'm certainly looking forward to the combo of the two.

It's funny, I came to the conclusion that I like my Atlas better than the PM4...so I guess I'll sell my PM4 and see what the Atlas Delta has to offer later this month.  :)

On the other side of the coin my atlas got demoted to the office and after going back and forth now lives in my drawer... The pm4 comes with me to the office now.

I will say that I am finding it very source dependent and it seems to really shine the more juice I throw at it, a good dac and amp is a must I feel.

Yeah, if you look at my lengthy post in the PM4 thread, I mentioned that when I hook up to my desktop amp that the PM4 is the better headphone, however, I listen to full sized headphones at my desk and my IEMs on the road from my phone (OnePlus 3T) and the Atlas is just easier to drive, given that they have half the drivers.  So yeah, it all depends how people are using them.  Both are good headphones, for sure.

After much experimentation with swapping out amps on the Fiio X7 (and a BF purchase on the AM2a amp) I've managed to tame the treble on the PM4 using gunmetal filters.
The Atlas and 4 now share equal head time. They both have their individual qualities, offering different presentation.
I would be hard pushed to choose just one though. Maybe the Atlas...?

I had an order for a pure silver cable back in Oct 2016 and at that time I was told that the cable need 4 weeks to prepare or gave a 4 weeks time frame for preparation.
Then looking at my work schedule, decided to order as that mean i will get the cable by end Dec2016 or worst case early Jan2017.

I kept checking or hoping for an earlier shipping dates.. but this never happened and when I checked my account it kept mentioning that my order had been fulfilled.. Not sure what it mean by fulfilled.. maybe it meant they had taken my money ...

I wrote in 3 times asking why the status in my account states that it had been fulfilled..see below
No specific reason was given, only says will look into it... after 3 reminders i still see this...

Order       Date                  Payment Status           Fulfillment Status        Total
#4117      Oct 13, 2016      paid                             fulfilled                          $125.37

Now my concern is, if system states fulfilled no one in manufacturing is gonna make my cable...

Sorry, I just need to add this info in this thread.. Not getting a reasonable answer from Jake@Trinity
Now regretting that I have a hand in support the Phantom Air...

Hi,

Without knowing your order number or name i can't check what was emailed back and forwards, however feel free to PM me with the details.

Although i will note that APPROXIMATE times are 4-8 weeks and we had been flooded with orders and we had got a little backlogged.

So PM me and I will look into these conversations.
