Given that I own a Schiit Freya+ and that uses four tubes, I clearly don’t mind. 😅

I wish I’ve had “only” 4 tubes 🤣

Which headphones did you try with it?
Hd600 1990 pro were the better ones, also beyerdynamic 900 pro x, meze 99 classics, hd660s and heavily modded monoprice retro. I also own he400se but haven't plugged them in cause they're planners and everyone says it's a bad paring. I also own the koss lineup (Porta pro, kph30i and ksc75) haven't tried those either but I doubt any benefit will be had same for iems

I have ordered TA-66
Wait time is 7-14 days.

One is good...two is even better! :)

See you later! :)

Cheers!
Mmm.... Your post is kinda making me want to do the same. I mean I already own 2 raytheon vintage preamp tubes after all...

Also i havent felt the need to tube role the ta 66 for one I haven't find any suitable alternatives since they rare-ish sorta "newer" in the scene Russian tubes, and the stock tubes make such a lovely tuning IMHO

I ordered a pair of tubes for TA-26S. Let's see if there would be a noticeable change...
I like the sound as it is...but if the bass would be a bit tighter, it would be a massive win for me.

6AS7GA / 6H13C / 6N13S Svetlana / Russia (NOS), it's SED winged-C and
Psvane UK-6SN7 Hi-Fi vacuum tube

Cheers!

I think the UK-6SN7 will help tighten up bass some if the sound signature is similar to the CV181-T, which I think it is. I don’t know how your stock tube compares to the SED Winged-C for bass, but I don’t think it will hurt either.

I had plans to get CV181-T as per your recommendation, but they didn't have a single available, only a pair...
I read comments that UK-6SN7 should do the same...and the price was good, too :)
will see next week....they are already on the way....probably Monday or Tuesday.

Yes, they are technically clones of the same British tubes, except the UK-6SN7 is a clone of the standard model and the CV181-T is a clone of the military version.

Is it possible to directly replace stock tube "6N2 Chinese tube" with "12AX7 Russian tube"? If yes, how much it would gain in sound quality?
The two tube types are not compatible due to different pin-out/wiring configuration.

Interesting, because I found some comments below on YouTube "Z Reviews" TA-66 video saying that N62 is 6AX7 tube equivalent and can be directly replaced with 12AX7 tube.

If that’s the case, try it out and let us know. 🫡

While I am waiting for the TA-66.
I'm listening to the TA-26S, and even though it has imperfections, it's such a great amp, even with the stock tubes.
With some music, those imperfections are not even noticeable.

Listening with Sennheiser HD820

As with all tube amps, the sound gets better after the amp gets warmer...
I think that TA-26S needs quite a while (an hour or more) to get into its best sound.

Cheers!
