  I should read better.

The brainwavz B2 has been my favorite IEM since I've received them.  I've been looking for cheaper alternatives when I'm out and about, would I be correct in assuming these are like the cheaper/lower version of the B2 that I don't have to worry about babying when I'm out and about?

Well, kinda. I just did an impromptu comparison between the two and they are different enough that you won't be confusing them anytime soon....but the sigs are aiming for the same type of sound overall so this just might do what you're after. Just don't expect them to sound exactly the same and you're good. As for babying them, so far so good. I've been balling the Jive's up and chucking them in my various pockets with zero respect for their well being(I do this with all of my test units to see how well they hold up to abuse), and these seem to be doing well. For the money, the Jive's are much better than I've expected them to be, and I'm a pretty hard guy to surprise. Again, for the money, just try them out, if not up to your standards at least you won't be out a lot of cash.

I won't get mine until next week now I guess.  Curious though - when were these released?  AFAIK first reviewers got their sets not more than 48 hours ago.  Yet a review has just been posted ......

Were there early release units or something?

Sorry - I can't understand how people can do that.  It takes me about 3-4 days just to "bed-in" a new signature.  And that is before I do any critical listening.

In the early days I posted a couple of reviews not long after receiving the gear, but I learnt not to do that after having to go back and rewriting some of them - simply because I hadn't taken the time to get to know the headphones.

Honestly - if I was a manufacturer and someone did that to me, it's the last review set they'd get .....

Seriously, agreed completely here. I did the same at first and regretted it. It's not fair to the seller and it's not fair to the readers of said reviews. Patience is always a must here. Initial impressions are always a nice thing, and said impressions belong on a thread like this, but a review is a different beast entirely, it needs to be well thought out and much time needs to be given to it to get a true feel for how they sound after a really long time, in my case a few weeks.

Couldn't agree more. I wrote audio impressions for an IEM once just straight out of the box. Only 3 days later and I had to erase everything and start over.

I think that guy don't believe in burning of any kind. Thats his way of doing things may be, although not appreciated.

He's entitled to, of course, but most of us know that's not the way to do it properly. To each his own, I guess....I hope he's still at least listening to them and updates his review as he goes along. Now that would be better.

Updating reviews? To be honest, you don't see that happen on Head-Fi very often, even if the reviewer says they would update their reviews as time goes on. Even I wouldn't be bothered to update my reviews.

Oh, I know that, I'm just hoping the man sees this and does so to HIS review
