@M3NTAL, dont forget to add @planar shill's #4 LCD-RMine says R13004 on the card, but nothing on the headphones.
I do. Works great.Does anyone use the RAAL CA1A conversion box with their LCD-R?
Well we both have LCD-R and Susvara. How do they compare to CA1A?I do. Works great.
Also the CA-1a is excellent and it's worth buying the whole headphone package instead of just the transformer box imo.
And that's the TI-1b box, right? It doesn't matter that the LCD-R is rated at ten times the resistance?I'd put the CA-1a against just about any headphone tbh, it's one of my favorites. Tons of detail/clarity/air yet also has bass impact.
I've actually never even used the Jot-A with my LCD-R, sorry. No point when the RAAL box let me hook it right up to my Bliss. No way is the Jot-A going to outperform the Bliss.
number1sixerfan is another one who ranks the CA-1a among his favorites and he's heard the best of the best, HE-1, Shangri-La Sr, SR-Omega, etc.
Yup, I have the TI-1b and no, it just changes how much gain you need. And that's the TI-1b box, right? It doesn't matter that the LCD-R is rated at ten times the resistance?
I do want to try both or RAAL's headphone models. But, I am quite skeptical of them, the reviews don't really make me think they'd be my favorite flavor despite how impressive I am sure they sound.
Understood. I appreciate that approach and that is part of the reason I like Audeze so much. They just take EQ like champs. Perhaps I will get the whole headphone package instead of just the conversion box.Yup, I have the TI-1b and no, it just changes how much gain you need.
The thing about the CA-1a is they were designed specifically to not care about the tone/frequency response. They were designed purely to be technically capable and then each user can EQ it to whatever flavor they like. You can EQ flavor/tonality but you can't EQ technicalities.
Anyway, sorry to off-topic about the CA-1a, I just think it's very worthwhile to consider for anyone already planning to buy the adapter, you're already half way there.
