Intrigued but the price and increased size relative to the M8 are deal breakers for me. I'm more tempted to by a second M8.

The more I look at the spec and the design, the more I see Shanling positioning M9 on the level and in the category of SP2000 which I assume will be its closest competitor (even BAL power output is close enough considering SP2k spec without a load), aside from M9 having open Android 10 (and a ton of RAM) and leapfrogging over a more common 660 to the next 665. I think Android 7 was holding Shanling back, and I hope moving forward all their DAPs will move to this new Android 10/Snapdragon 665 digital platform.

That just means buying an SP2K is a better option LoL

At this price, this M9 is sending quite a message.

On the contrary I'm just leaving Shanling. I doubt that more than 4 times the price is justified here even if the upgrade is for sure tangible.
Just looks like a marketing financial segmentation for fishing those who 'cannot resist' but the spending is not justified.
AK SP2000 or even Fiio M17 got my attention now. Let's close the subject about personal choice and good luck for the launch.

In most apps it should work in full screen mode for video. But there is no automatic display rotation based on device orientation.

I'm hoping for either the ES9038Q2M or ES9038Pro, and not the ES9068AS because no design has completely removed its IMD hump yet.
