The Onix Waltz XM10 doesn't have gapless playback. Makes Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon unlistenable. The XM5 has gapless. Will gapless playback ever be added to the XM10 @Shanling?

My last DAP would be fine. I've be using on my commute to the airport. Put it in my bag for a big (security etc), then go to use it and the same playlists wouldn't load. Some weird ass bug. Apple blamed iBasso, who blamed the app (and Apple).
In our experience, it works without issue if you are using internal memory for offline playback of streaming apps and it's our recommended way.
If you are downloading to the MicroSD card, it can in some occasions cause issues and would need to be re-downloaded. But even then, it should not be issue if it's a recent download.
We would have to agree with iBasso on this, as Apple simply does many things "their own way"....

Our Android app has been waiting for Gapless support since 2018.
But you can use any of the lovely 3rd party music players that will work gapless.

Thanks for the reply, would this be the same as all other streaming apps? As I had the same issue with Tidal too?In our experience, it works without issue if you are using internal memory for offline playback of streaming apps and it's our recommended way.

It can happen. The apps keep the downloaded data encrypted to prevent music piracy, so it's best to keep the offline downloads on internal memory where they stay unchanged. Thanks for the reply, would this be the same as all other streaming apps? As I had the same issue with Tidal too?

Does the XM10 work around Android's 48khz resampling, like iBasso does?
Yes, we have no android resampling.Does the XM10 work around Android's 48khz resampling, like iBasso does?

Are there many reviews out there? I can only find the Super Review, Bad Guy Good Review and Sound News ones on YT? I can't find many written reviews outside of posts here? @Shanling have you sent out review units, do you anticipate more reviews?

@warrenpchi Have you listened to any Campfire Audio on the XM10 LTD? More specifically Clara if possible by any chance?
I actually might jump back on the bandwagon of XM10 LTD soon enough and wanted to know how does it handle more sensitive IEMs.
Have heard some feedback about it having hiss on some Dunus so yeah...having some mixed feelings.
Obviously the hiss would not be present if using a dongle from the USB-C port but I also want to be able to just use the DAP if it sounds good.
Also are you able to compare XM10 LTD with any other DAPs?
Cheers!

I have an old Titan kicking around here somewhere, but no other Dunus. I'm working on my review of the new Forte Ears Mefisto (5.6 Ohms; 105 dB; @ 1 kHz) at the moment. I'll give that a whirl and see how it goes.

I only have my older A&K SP1000 here, but I haven't done any comparisons yet. TBH, I bought the XM10 entirely for fun and form factor, so I haven't listened to it critically just yet. I've been meaning to do that, but I have a few units here for review, and those come first.

Is the hiss just like waterfall, I mean present but in the background not high noise? As luck would have it, yes I did. And yes, Clara was noticeably hissy with it, though obviously only when no music was playing. I should also note that Clara was hissy with my Chord Mojo 2 and older A&K SP1000 as well, so I wouldn't necessarily put that entirely on the XM10.
For me Clara has like waterfall noise when connected to PB5 but only if music is paused and the AMP is still engaged. When music is playing I don’r hear it anymore. Is that your case as well on XM10?

Yeah, I really like how it looks + the slimness of it is a huge factor and selling point for me.I only have my older A&K SP1000 here, but I haven't done any comparisons yet. Curious how it stacks up against other DAPs and even AMPs.
My reference setup is DX340 w/AMP14 LO -> Penon Totem IC 4.4mm -> PB5 -> Penon Adapter 4.4M to 4.4F
It may be a lot but it sounds terrific, I also hooked it up to the recently received AK CA1000T and it also soungs great.
On some songs it’s really hard to tell them apart.
Trying the L&P W4, it does bring it down in SQ, it is less open but sound is still very close, like 89% or more? For a highly portable setup it’s awesome!
Curious how XM10 sounds directly, hopefully better than DX180 which seems not enough in comparison with the above.
Of course plan is to be able to listen directly via 4.4mm upcoming adapter (@Shanling please provide update and details) and via external DAC/AMP dongles for change in flavor.
