100+ Head-Fier
I find them slightly too tight but the top is fine. I have thin hair. The sound more than makes up for any slight discomfort as well!
For anyone with a weird shaped head like myself that was having issues with the self adjusting strap not holding the cups in place, I found a great solution on Etsy under the “MaximIT” store.
This strap is very soft and flexible with breathable holes. It feels a bit lighter than the stock Noire X strap and forms to my head nicely. The cups now stay in place on my head due to its fixed position and don’t sag down after 10-15 minutes of use. To my eye aesthetically, it looks like it was made for the Noire X!
Max is based in Canada and shipped my order the same day of purchase. He immediately messaged me with instructions on how to install the strap (very easy to do by removing 2 screws). I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who loves the sound of the Noire X but was struggling with its comfort over time. It also works for the E3 should you be suffering from the same issue there.

I believe it's TPU, a flexible plant-based printer material.I almost pulled the trigger on this a month ago but decided to wait. Can I ask what the material is? Is it that hard plastic from 3d printers or softer?
We have heard this from a couple of people with little or no hair in particular... Generally the response is almost always positive across the lines. We appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind for future products... I'm glad you found something that helps you today.@mrspeakers
You should make your own headband cushion. Now i had to deal with ZMF.
Sorry to say but Noire X headband is one of the worses out there. Top of the head is in pain before one hour is passed.

whats the size difference between noire x and E3?
Is the noire x the same size as the aeon noire?
Hi,
I noticed that you own both the NOIRE X and the Austrian Audio - The Composer. I'd love to hear your thoughts on them! Which one do you enjoy the most, and what makes it stand out to you? How would you compare the two?
Thank you![]()
What do you prefer about the Clears over the NX?So I've had them for a few weeks now. They are great closed back headphones but they certainly won't be replacing my Focal Clears when passive isolation isn't necessary. It's great having the choice though.
that's what I have paired it with... it is very very good. Getting a Burson at some point for desktop use but for now the DC Elite does a great job.I know MR Speaks is down with the Mojo2 for OTG and it's synergy but I went DC ELITE because I lusted after it, and here and there saw its a match for it. Dc Elite it's seccsy af. Don't have Noire X , but it's breathed a new elevated life in to my modest IE600 and FT1 collection.. or at least I'm convinced anyway.
I’m using the Gemini for E3 with an Amperex Bugle Boy. The combo is excellent. I also have a Ray Select 12AU7 and a 5670 tube inbound.Just got the Sparkos Gemini hybrid amp in today. Haven't even played around extensively, but I can already tell it's a wonderful pairing with the Noire X. Anyone else rocking this setup?
Everything except base and looks. Comfort and high mids / low treble (sorry I'm not an expert) are both suspect on NX. Again they are better than any other closed back's I've heard in price range though. Celestee and Radiance for example not nearly as good as NX. They just aren't open back and anyone who says they sound like they are is pulling your leg. What do you prefer about the Clears over the NX?
Mojo2 is giving you the experience of each headphone. You can play with the DSP, but if you feel the E3 is definitely better (like I do), then do yourself a favor and just get them now. End game (for me, with Mojo2 portable and mTT2 desktop).Had the chance to spend a few hours with the NX and the E3 a few weeks ago. Both connected to my Mojo2. Been using IEM's for years and the Campfire Black Star is my daily driver.
Fit and comfort on both NX and E3 was good and I think I could use both for hours without issues.
Sound on the NX was great. Nice bass (but I ended up adding 2 clicks on my Mojo2) and treble (airy with lots of details) but the midrange sounded a little cold/sharp to my ears. Would have loved slightly more subbass and a slightly warmer midrange.
The E3 had that extra subbass and a less forward midrange which sounded better to my ears. But its also twice the price![]()
It's my first time listening to anything from DCA so maybe I'm just new to their house sound and need to adjust? Or maybe they just need a good desktop amp to really shine?
