IMR R3 Halcyon, R3 Phase, R3 Semper - Discussion / Impressions Thread

Rah was a limited 200 unit run. So unless you manage to get a returned unit from IMR site as b stock or getting a used one, youbare out of luck.
Same goes for R3 range. If you read page 1 main descriptions you will see the quantities mentioned.

Halcyon was reduced to 100 units total. So check IMR site if it is still available.

As far as Rah goes mids are lovely due to planar driver. Bass is massive but very good quality. Well controlled, good layering. And you have several filters to tone it down or dial it up to suit any genre/preference. It also scales with power very well.

In short Rah should fit your description. But i think Bob wont let you down with Halcyon if you are looking for mid focused iems with good slam.
Existing customers already know what IMR is capable of when it comes to price/ performance ratio.

Just dont expect for analytical or flat signature here.

I'm hoping the larger 12mm planar means nice prominent detailed mids for the pb1

I haven't received an email prompt to pay and continue over my earlier deposit. Hopefully I was included. XD

The Halcyon will be interesting (assuming no artifacts happen from the added complication) . Electrets for pre-10kHz treble and the piezoelectric for the less important treble extension after 10kHz.

Well that would most likely mean estats would have massive FR to cover. As i dont think Aten DD is goong to be involved in working on mids. If anything the midbass might be toned down more then on Rah. To help estats push lower mids forward.
Just speculating though

Was halcyon price always 600 pound? Or was it 500? I think I remember seeing like pre-order sale?

The preorder was for placing a deposit. Not a different price.

But there was always the loyalty discount for repeat customers. (something I wish other boutique stores would adopt...)

If only halcyon was a CIEM, this would be no brainer to order :(
Ever since experiencing IMR bass, I am so hesitant on ordering other IEM cuz I freaken love IMR bass they are so good. (+ great bang for buck with royalty code)
But I really want to try CIEM, cuz of its fits and longevity of the listening session. (Anyone recommend? I got my eyes out for itsfit fusion or maybe fearless s8f or s8z)

I literally snatched the last one at pre-order price :raised_hands: :yum:
That was yesterday morning (Feb 3rd), Bob left a margin of a few hours for pathological hoverers like me. Within the hour the price moved up to £600.

Edit: He added a 10mm planar + dynamic driver closed iem to his store. As a mass production model. Not important for me as a Rah owner.

"Talking of the Semper I have decided to bring that release forward to May 2020 and the R3 Phase has been cancelled as I have some engineering/acoustic issues that I cannot resolve with any real speed."

Oh my god! I will get Semper for my birth day
