I purchased them from ebay seller keny-lin.  He puts them up for bid starting at $20 every once in a while.

Right now he has a couple up for sale at $28, which is still a steal for these.  I'm thinking of picking up another pair since they might be discontinued.

I think you we're the one bidding against me,  My reserve was $16.34 or something and I came back and they were gone for like $17...LOL, Good for you..I'm still after a white set so I've got my bid finger ready.  The Pictures show the same type of plug as the GR04,6&7...Or is it a hockey stick?  I think what makes the GR99 a little different is the Bass, It's bigger then the 02 for sure. I like it but it has a slightly more V/U shape, and the 02 is more balanced.
But the 99 isn't the standard V-shape as the Mids aren't pulled back like a normal V.   On a EQ, it's like the Bass is above the (Flat) and the Mids are on the (Flat) line, then the Treble is above the (Flat) line.  It's V/U shaped but nothing dips below Neutral, if that make sense.

I don't think it was me.   The starting bid on mine was $19.99 and that is what I payed for them.

The GR99s are great, but there is something odd about them when you compare them with the GR02.

Do you hear a "veil" on the GR06s like I do?

Not really a veill but it's wonky for sure.  It's too Mid forward and the top of the treble is a little funky. I still think it is a great Iem, but it doesn't really have the wow factor.  It lacks a (Punch).
I really liked them when I first got them but after I heard the other Vsonic models, I like them more.  Hands down the GR02 sounds better.  The 06 doesn't sound (Right).
If you want a mid forward IEM, the 06 is the one.  I like a more Balanced sound or even V-U shape .   Is the 06  more technical? Maybe, But it's not as musical as the 02..
You know, thinking about it...I don't think the 06 has a veil, the 02 just has more crispness to it. I actually can pick more detail out of the 02's....

The 06= you tap your toes a little...
The 02= you are full on doing Air-drums and Air Guitar with a big smile on your face.
(Easiest way to describe them...lol)

I guess that lack of crispness and detail is probably what I perceive as a veil on the GR06.

I purchased the GR06 first and I thought they sounded great.   They are just not that great compared to the GR99 and the GR02.

The folks at Vsonic sure know how to make incredible IEMs, huh?

I'll have to get the GR07 sooner or later.

Are you guys feeling the GR06 lacks bass before listening to the GR02/GR99?

I really feel there's too much bass, but I do agree that the highs do sound veiled (compared to my Brainwavz B2 at least...)

All three models are not lacking in bass.  The GR02 has the best "quality", while the GR99 probably has the most "quantity".

Hello,

I have been following this forum for a while now and I think I have decided on a pair of gr02's as my next in ear headphones. I am just confused on one thing...
Are these two 02's the same thing?

The second link is where Magicman74 originally got his and I'm just wondering if there is actually a different "heavy bass edition" to the gr02proII...

Thanks!

They actually are not the same thing, though I'm not entirely sure what the difference is. :p  VSonic has some very confusing naming conventions.

I got them from bigbargainonline that Magicman74 referred to. If we look at lendmeyourears , they sell both GR02s, packaging looks the same. Mine does not even say Bass Ed or Flagship Silver Cord , just GR02. Anybody tried/reviewed regular GR02?

Thanks Magicman74, this iem is great and the seller is good too.

I received the GR02 (Bass Edition).  Holy Cow!!!  Amazing!!!

You were right.   They are so much better, to my ears, than the GR06 and the GR99.

I only paid $20 + shipping.  It seems like I'm listening to something much, much more expensive.

Everything is so clear...highs, mids and lows.   When I listen to the the GR06s its like a muddy veil is placed between me and the music.  With the GR99s, that veil is lifted, but something is not quite right - the balance is off somehow.  With the GR02 its like everything is fine tuned and harmony is achieved.

Yes, the GR99 is worth it at $39.99.  The GR06 are priced correctly at $60...its not their fault that the GR99s are better.  The GR02s are a steal at $20.  Twenty dollars, for crying out loud...that is what JVC marshmallows go for.

I noticed something similar when I switched from my GR06 to my Brainwavz M4's a couple days ago. I listened to the same song (Eric Clapton's Layla from the One More Car,One More Rider DVD) comparing both and the M4's sounded much clearer and more detailed than what the GR06's did. When Clapton's guitar kicked in on Layla the GR06 sounded good but when I switched to the M4 I was like "Woah" this is awesome. The guitar just sounded clearer and much better with the M4's so I can agree with what you said about the GR06 sounding like a muddy veil was placed between you and the music. I have the GR02 Bass Ed on the way so I can't wait to see how it stacks up against the GR06 and the M4 which right now is my favorite IEM for listening to classic rock.
