iFi Zen Stream: Setup, Tips, Tricks...

Questions about setup of the ZS.

Trying to access network drives, just comes up as 'no network drives found', when I know I have a NAS on the network. But there it comes up under the 'media servers' menu. This is using the stream-ifi app on Android.
I know I have to activate DLNA on my NAS. Is it turned on for your NAS?

@iFi audio Would the iPower2 or iPowerX be preferable as a power supply to the Zen Stream? What are the differences between the two? I understand the iPowerX is superior to the original iPower (version 1), but I could not find a comparison between the iPower2 and the iPowerX.

Hi there! In general, our iPower X is even more silent than our iPower2 and we consider it as a bit better. Some our customers report that the difference between them is small and others report noticeable improvements after adding iPower X to their setups. But a lot still depends on a product you intend to use with these PSUs and how susceptible it is to power in general. Hope this helps, thanks!

I have been using iPower X 15v, I prefer that one, after personal listening.

Best to buy from a place with good return policy and possibly get both to see what suits your personal tastes, and if you hear a difference.

Cheers!!

The product is the Zen Stream. Which of these would you recommend for the Zen Stream?

Personally I'd go for the best I can afford, but as per @Mr BubbaHyde's post I'd order a 15V version. ZEN Stream operates within the DC 9V/1.8A-15V/0.8A range, but we got some feedback that it sounds best with 15V. Hope this helps, thanks!

I confess I am the last one to have a great knowledge of setting up NAS or anything else of that nature. I was very lucky to pull off the setup of my Roon Rock, even though I had step by step instructions,

That said, I remember I had a bit of trouble understanding the way to do it inside the iFi stream app. If this helps at all this is how the SSD inside my Rock looks like in the app.

Why there is / and \ in there I have no clue, but it works flawlessly this way for me. It's where I keep ripped CD files. Now if this qualifies as a NAS I have no idea, but to me it is Network Attached Storage, so there ya go!!

And searching for it did not yield results, I had to type it in manually.

Good luck,

Cheers!!

Edit: If I just posted a way for someone to get into my files, please enjoy, but let me know please!!
