Anyone have thoughts on sound comparisons to other DAPs?

By "congested" you mean more bass, more analog ?

It sounded veiled or held back...I didn't really notice it until I switched back and forth with the H2. To be honest with you, it's not bad, per se; it's just what I heard. Of course the H2 is over 3x the price of the BL...

You only using both as a dac and not using both as a dac/amp ? I think the hugo2 is a great as a dac but the ifi bl is better as a dac/amp.

Good point as I was using both as a DAC being fed digitally by an SP1000.

Battery life and charging time.
I didn’t have enough time to do an extensive observation of the battery life. Managed only to do a single continuous playback of Pink Noise at 250 mV at 16 ohms, at Normal power setting, and the battery last to almost 8 hours. This is pretty much like driving headphone continuously at Normal power mode. At Eco power mode the battery is expected to last longer.

Below is the charging curve of iFi micro iDSD Black-Label from battery level at empty state to 100%. It requires around 6:16’ hours to fully charge the battery.

According to specs battery capacity is only 4800mAh and this measurement shows a capacity of well above 6000mAh .... how does it come? Great great great review btw ... thanks a lot!!!

The BL is a great piece of gear and I've been using it as an amp fed from an LG G7 to Audeze's i4 - it's a great transportable setup for me.
