iFi micro iDSD Black-Label - In-Depth Review

How hot does it get with other settings? Does it matter how many ohm's the headphones have?

My current headphones are 40 ohm's, but I will switch to a pair with 300 later.

Well, sensitivity of headphones determines how difficult they are to drive. iDSD BL can get warm but won't toast anyone's hands or pockets

Thanks for the reply, but that's not what worries me.
I have a condition called MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity). It makes me react to all kinds of things, including the chemical vapors that gets emitted when electronics heat up. It never seems to disappear.
I have a 5 year old computer and it still does it. My phone is a tad bit better, allowing me to spend a few minutes at a time, without any reaction.
However I don't react at all to a couple of Bluetooth receivers that I have (they never gets hot). If I stay 2 meters or more from my phone, then I am safe (the same room as a computer, isn't safe enough).

If the unit stay close to ambient room temperature, then it might be okay, but reading the review, it seems like it will be higher than that...

What we suggest at this point is to contact your local iFi representative and try the product for yourself. Our return policy is generous, hence if iDSD BL doesn't do the job for you, you'll be refunded.

Does anybody know the answer to this?

Also @iFi audio

micro iDSD BL use USB power only in ECO mode, whereas in normal/turbo modes both USB line and battery are in use. And yes, battery in USB mode is charged.

Thanks again. I might, if someone can provide me with some figures.
If the results are to close to the 50 degrees mentioned in the review, then it is not worth trying and potentially risking my health for... if it is closer to half of that, then it might work.

Hey guys and happy holidays.
I recently started using my iDSD BL with Tidal HiFi (MQA). I've notice there is a setting (in the desktop app) to Passthrough MQA (Disable software decoding of MQA). Should I enable it or should I left it turned off?
Second question: how can I stream MQA through tidal app to iDSD?

Please take a look here: https://ifi-audio.com/downloads/

And you're correct, Micro iDSD BL indicates MQA via yellow LED.

I want to plug my phone to this while using both the DAC and amp sections, i purchased 5 female to female connectors so that i can plug my phone cable directly, but all the 5 connectors (from different brands) did not work, unfortunately i don't have other devices which have the ODD male connector to test my connectors, so what's the problem exactly ?

Create a ticket with iFi Tech Support. They are most qualified to answer this. Tho I'm sure folks will be interested in the answer so please report back to this thread to let us know what you learn.
