Thanks Sebastien for the feedback and I know you are working on a continuous improvement but without talking about delay, are you working on increasing the possible flow up to DSD512 (and PCM 768) or just on display improvements (LED colours and inconsistency removal... like the DSD512 display).
I would prefer to have the DSD512 expectation (a possibility for many modern DACs like the latest R2R generation).
That’s what I’m hoping that the DSD 512 option in Roon’s audio settings may be promising—I don’t have much need for PCM 768 but I’d love the option of upsampling to DSD 512, if resources will accommodate it

Thanks for noting these requests, @Sebastien Chiu. Piggy backing off what's already been said, the possibility of the Zen Stream supporting higher sample rates increases it's value -- with the growing popularity of software upsampling ala HQPlayer and PGGB (not to mention Roon, Audirvana, and Neutron) it would be nice to have the Zen Stream able to squeeze out that last bit of performance for the increasing number of folks who would take advantage.

I’m hoping for it. Have you seen many streamers that support higher than 384/256? It seems like a lot of the DAC/streamer combos advertise that they can handle up to 786/512, but when you read the fine print they say that when attached to external DACs they max at 384/256. Not sure if it’s a bandwidth or driver issue or what.

We know that DSD512/PCM768 playback would please many people and our R&D is aware of that too, so if it is possible to make that, we will, but as per @Sebastien Chiu's response we don't have any specifics at this time. Thanks!

Interesting observation and one that I hadn't noticed. Perhaps you're onto something -- my technical knowledge only goes so far as what I hear on the forums.

Using Roon with speed conversion to DSD128 (USB) and DSD64 (SPDIF coax). Playing Tidal Hifi+. My ZS feeds the Hugo2 Dac (most of the time via coax).
Noticed that configuring MQA across ZS and Roon, impacts frequency of occasional audio disconnections.
Can you suggest the "optimal" device settings across Roon and ZS?

RPI3 and 4 based streamers... in any case, I can attest that it works on an Allo USBridge (CM3) and on an RPI4. I was even able to upgrade to PCM 1.5 and DSD 1024.
On the other hand, dacs are quite rare and so users, too.
I particularly liked the DSD 512 with the good filters under HQP.
