iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane

Is it possible to stream Qobuz directly to the Zen Stream from my Android phone? If so how. Thanks in advance.
In a nutshell, the M Connect app is what you need, it works very well and is available in the google play store.

On the Qobuz "Connect" front below is the response I received from them in regards to Qobuz having their own "Connect" app...

Take it for what it's worth...

You are likely correct. But I have had some tell me they prefer not to update sw to older firmware if their players have no issues. Sometimes updates can cause others issues to pop up , that the older firmware units can’t assimilate correctly like newer units can.

So my question kinda goes to if it doesn’t benefit my player, that I’m not experiencing or has no problems then why bother?
The ZS is a computer running an operating system and attached to a network to function. Software updates other than those targeting audio quality and function may be important for security, compatibility with external networked devices, etc.

@iFi audio

How many long it takes to get a answer to a submitted support ticket? Or better question is it normal to get zero feedback via email, even for the ticket creation?

I created last week a ticket because my ZEN Stream has a hardware issue and until today zero feedback. Also pretty uncommon after ticket creation I got no email like "Thanks your ticket has been created" or something like that. Is this normal or is the support ticket system broken?

Chromecasting high samplerates causes dropouts all over the place. This happens only with streaming over Chromecast to my Atom. Streaming Qobuz with the built in Qobuz solution on the Naim Atom or using Roon work flawless. It’s not a network problem, it’s Chromecast built-in. I gave up on it, Roon all the way for me, always rock solid.

Thanks very much for the info. We'll keep this in mind during our ongoing discussions with Qobuz.

Question on these software updates. Are the updates changing the ZS interally or updating just the software side on the computer side? Meaning if I’m running music off my iphone, do these sw updates help me or do they just benefit computers?

It is internal to the ZS. They help you no matter what source you are playing from!

To my knowledge, the only way to do this is by using mConnect, Roon, or Audinirvana.

Hi there,

Can you please let me know what your ticket # is? Regarding your question, yes, you should. Check your spam.

We generally are around a week for a maximum wait before response time, now. The ticketing site is short-staffed, so I appreciate your understanding and patience.

Hi,

as I wrote I got no email like "Ticket has been created" or similar. I got only a email from press@ifi-audio.com "Please Confirm Subscription" but I never signed to any newsletter at all, since I did not checked the box "Subscribe to the iFi Newsletter"! Trust me there is no single email in junk/spam folder about any support ticket from iFi Audio.

I used this form: https://support.ifi-audio.com/customer/ I filled all required fields and checked all required checkboxes. After I pressed "Submit" button the support page refreshed and got to this landing page: https://support.ifi-audio.com/ I did the same earlier this week because I was wondering why I did not get any support email or feedback at all.

Fits with my experience of problems, in that previously it has been straightforward but recently the ‘click here to raise a ticket’ link just takes you back to the ‘we are very busy’ page. Ie no way to raise a ticket.

Having Used the iPower X in just this way, you are good to go. I would go with the 15v as that is the one I used, no issues at all. In fact way way back in this thread someone commented that there was some magic in the X used with the Stream...

Now I understand what they meant!! It is a huge combo favorite of mine!

Cheers!!
Thank you:)
Ifi iPower 15v has arrived. Fantastic and magic. I am not dreaming but listening to live music.
Where is the end of the possibilities of ZEN :))))

Will swapping the (simple) Power Supply that came with my ZS, by the Elite PS, NOTICABLY improve sound quality (or just slightly)?
If yes, then which voltage? 12v or 15v?

Thanks

Stream's new partner, the little Roon ROCK. A NUC7i7BNH mobo with 16GB RAM, 250GB Samsung NVMe system drive, Crucial MX500 2TB SSD for storage. A LPSU for it is on its way from China, 80W at 19V. Got the ITX frame, the smallest I could find, on aliexpress. I chose the open look to improve cooling, it really is cool and quiet at all times this way. The NUC is a bargain from eBay, cost me about $90 delivered, with 16GB RAM and a 120GB 2.5" SSD. Still work in progress, got to adjust a few thigs and will end up hanging on the wall. Can't wait to see if there's any improvement with the new linear power supply as the one I use now is an old and crappy universal laptop unit. The i7 powered NUC is plenty fast for what I use it for, up-sampling in Roon to DSD256 is just too easy :)

Anyone using their Stream with all to DSD256 up-sampling? I ran mine for 7 hours straight like this and not one glitch. The little ROCK does a great job! Ended up sticking it to the (True)NAS with a few tiny magnets. I really believe the Stream and Roon are made for each other, even if they're not legally bonded yet :)

Great.
You should try HQPlayer upsampling - in comparison your CPU is bored with Roon native😉
