After I updated the beta firmware, there was a problem with roon, I tried to restore the original factory settings. After that zs stays in the state without lights. I open the ifi app on the ipad, select zs, and the program will automatically exit.16700584760272200367742413710855.jpg16700585027676904005751344641882.jpg
Try the web adress on Safari browser
The app was exiting before too also on non beta software in my case

Yep, also see this, that's why I ordered an iPower Ultra - but haven't received it yet:) :

Notably

"compared the ifi Zen Stream with external power supply from ifi ipower Elite with the Lumin D2 with modified Sbooster BOTW, ifi was more detailed, more depth, slightly brighter, wider stage…in short, just better, not much…but still."

"ifi Zen Stream with external power supply from ifi ipower Elite!
Together they are better than the Lumin D2 with the Sbooster Botw, price one third!
Have to say the Auralic Aries G1 sounds a little bit better.
"
Wow this made me interested in zen stream, because I have a elite 12V.

I have a question though. Im planning on using the usb for both dac and usb storage.

Now.

1. Can I find this share/usb storage on the network, let say I want to transfer som files to it from my Synology NAS?

2. Playback from this USB storage to dac. Any downsides?

Re 1. yes you can
Re 2. that's all I use my ZS for... I can't see any downsides.

I have been eyeballing zen stream for some time…and then came the Neo Stream which is also attractive, because it comes with X PSU, which I like over the Elite actually😱

Wonder if Neo is worth it

DELETED: I found the answer on the PCB

Was looking for a DAC chip on ZS to confirm if it actually made a processing before the USB DAC

I hope they will focus on optimising software before releasing anything new...
The "software" currently in use for the Zen Stream is basically made for simple settings changes, and for playing music over a hard disk.

Tidal, Spotify, Roon, Audirvana, and so on are all controlled and run from their individual apps, so I always like to ask when I see things of this nature, What would you like to see optimized? Are you thinking more like a BlueOS type control?

Cheers!!

Volumio is OK as long as it's implemented correctly. Therefore I'd like to see "polished" product, fix bugs, improve stability.

I'm not sure if I fully understand your question...
ZS (with USB thumbdrive) --coax cable--> MC3+ --coax cable--> TT2
