I have no problems with it, although my router is in the same room as the ZS. I haven’t tried the Zen in other rooms further away, so can’t comment on its performance in that situation.

Hi guys, new to Head Fi, I signed up just to ask this question.
Dose anyone have a idea when the next version of the Stream is coming out?
I really want one but don't care for the look of this one, and hoping the new one will have Amazon HD built in. Hoping it's soon, don't know how much longer I can wait.

I am new to this forum and live in Sweden. My iFi Zen Stream is connected with a USB cable, Supra Excalibur (Made in Sweden), to my DAC, S.M.S.L. DO200. Now I have ordered an iFi iPower X, 15 volts.

I haven't had any major issues with my Zen Stream except that it sometimes has to be rebooted to connect to the DAC.

I previously had a Bluesound and it was a sound lift with Zen Stream. I miss Bluesound's software but mConnect Player HD works well enough.

A little while back there was a discussion of A "new" ZS and the possibility of one with an AES output for those looking for that. At that time I had suggested an adapter to accomplish this for the current version of the ZS.

I ordered one and after a few days of testing it out, I can confidently say that if you need AES that it will work just fine for you, with a few adjustments inside the ZS settings.

Here is the simple adapter...

When I first plugged it in the ZS immediately recognized what was plugged into its USB as this...

I ran the AES cable into my Schiit Modius for testing and the result was the volume was extremely low, I then remembered that when I had tried running the ZS into my Singer SU-2 I had the same results, so some changes in the setting of the ZS options were in order.

The use of these settings produced the proper sound and volume level from the ZS I was accustomed to and the unit sounds very good! So I can recommend that if you are looking for this type of solution, it does indeed function very well for its price point! As with AES in general it tops out at 32bit 192Khz so keep that in mind if you need higher than that.

Here's a link to the unit I ordered...

I have this question as well, because I need 768Khz out via USB. I use HQPlayer Desktop to upscale to 768Khz, and would like to use that with NAA.

It uses volumio so it will just be airplay. If you want Amazon where you can cast on their native app they got you covered plus third party. Get yourself a wiim, their developer are some of the fastest and brightest that delivered features. They just keep adding more features.

Maybe, but usb would be nice. I have never heard 192khz optical. Have you ever compared them.
I have both wiim and stream which both connected on topping e50. As for features is concern, wiim covered major streaming services on their app. Now, you can cast directly to amazon and can listen to UHD. They also included preset eq and adjustable on your liking or turn them off completely. Switching Spotify and tidal connect is fast on wiim but on stream it’s slow. You have turn off what your listening before you can use the other services, wiim is just that fast. As for the sound is concern, if you use phone wallmart the sound is not good but using linear power supply it will sound lively. There will be wiim pro soon that will include more connections.

You do realize people use tube amp despite its high distortion and found them pleasing, nothing wrong with that. Honest sound can be boring and call them too polite so they look for unit that color the sound. You like your music not neutral but colors on it. I have both why I use the cheaper one? Plug it with good power supply just like stream and sound would change. You haven’t try it so you gave negative review.
