Seems like a decent deal for what you get. not as good as a DIY Raspberry Pi based Id think.
I can tell you thru experience that the ZS does sound better than many RPI iterations, the closest I remember was the Pi2AES was close in terms of the COAX out but the ZS won out, for myself and others who were able to compare it.

The generic supply it came with. No, nothing odd. Worked fine until I switched it on yesterday. Btw, the psu is still working. I tested it. The smoke was coming from the region of the usb board. Checked the usb cable as well, all fine there.
Can you post a pic of the PS? The label bit, with the voltage and name, I have so many PS's that I use, and I'm sure those here may like to avoid it , or at least test whats coming out of it before using it themselves., voltage wise before continuing to use it.

Hey folks, recently acquired the Zen Stream and am liking it so far.

I'm using it via Tidal Connect on my Android phone - the one issue I keep having is that only 1 or 2 songs will play from a playlist/shuffle list and then Tidal will disconnect from the Zen. This happens about 2/3 of the time.

I'm on the latest firmware/software for everything.

Any tips on what could help?

Sorry can't supply a pic, I've packed up the zs and psu to post it back to the seller.There's nothing wrong with the power supply. The zs still switches on with it but thats about it. It won't show up in the network when attached via ethernet. It does show up in my phones wifi list when in hotspot mode, but the ifi app can't connect to it. The zs shorted out somewhere near the usb inputs as far as I could make out.

I had this issue, too--I downgraded the firmware via factory reset and it was much more stable for me.

I've raised a repair request with the dealer. The zs switches on but is not discoverable in wired mode. In hotspot mode the app attempts to connect but I just see the spinning circle. I'm so glad that whatever happened didn't carry thru to the gustard u18 and x26pro.

Yes, I have raised a warranty request with the dealer but they have written to me the following:
"We understand that you're facing issues with your unit and we also understand how difficult it must be for you to be without the proper working streamer at the moment.

For your case, we have already written to the brand and their team is working on it. This is a very unusual case scenario that neither we nor the brand has come across, and so the brand's team also might need some more time to check and get back to us. But please be rest assured as we are in constant touch with the brand regarding your case and as soon as we have any updates we will share them with you.
So as of now, it's difficult for us to offer you any specific timeline but can assure you that we are treating your case as a priority and will try to resolve it as soon as it is possible according to the brand instructions
."
Now what I don't understand is a) how the brand team is working on it as the zs in question is still with me, b) why is the dealer not taking ownership of the problem and "can't give me a timeline'.
I have two more zenstreams doing stream duties in other rooms. All three were bought from the same dealer aka headphonezone.in
This communication from the dealer is just typical obfuscation and that too for a product which is under warranty.
What I expect in this scenario is that the dealer at least ask me to send the product in question back to him and offer a replacement and/or immediate repair. Maybe I shouldn't have bought all these zenstreams and continued using raspi's.
Colour me seriously disappointed.
