I sure these USB cables. Quality seems high.Yes you should definitely wait and see what you've got first!
In terms of the BF2 I very much preferred the USB Unison input. it just seemed better to me than the others. One day while shopping on Amazon for USB Cables I came across this one...
I found it to be very good, and actually ordered 3 more for the price it can't be beat! Of course that is my judgement, but at least if you don't hear a difference, it's not expensive, and easily returnable.
Then you can try different power supplies, don't forget the ZS takes 9-15v only, so if you have any around in that range it may give you an idea of what more/less voltage does to the stream for your setup!
Cheers!!

I thought there were limitations to the bitrate on that unit.I have stream and newly purchase wiim mini that has been circulating on the internet for 99 dollars. This thing is fully featured with apps that you can use to many music services plus the sound quality was not far off on stream.
I can't remeber exactly but there were something's pointed out that left me not wanting it.

Imho that's a different low price market segment device with decent functionality but in no way reaching the specs and SQ of a Ifi Zen Stream.
Usage depends on capability of the chain connected behind.
So it can be an affordable wise choice nevertheless but for sure nothing for people with multi k bucks DACs, amps and headphones...

[...] Inside the hockey-puck-sized device – it measures 7cm across – an internal Texas Instruments DAC circuit offers support for PCM up to 24bit/192kHz. Analogue output comes via a 3.5mm socket. No MQA. No DSD. For those already in possession of an external DAC, the Wiim Mini offers a TOSLINK output that, bit-perfect purists beware, resamples everything to 48kHz. That’s on par with the €50 Google Chromecast-fuelled Xiaomi Mi Box S. However, the Q&A section of this wallet-friendly streamer’s Amazon.ca listing suggests a forthcoming firmware update will upgrade TOSLINK to 24bit/192kHz.[...]

I use Mconnect only for streams from my personal Library (stored in fanless homemade NAS)I think I will try Mconnect too.
So Mconnect can send both Tidal and Qobuz bitperfect to Zen Stream?
For Tidal i only use Tidal connect and I love it

I am anyway a sick nerd in terms of trying out every possible solution.I use Mconnect only for streams from my personal Library (stored in fanless homemade NAS)

I could as well just plug my IPad into my DAC and play everything Bitperfect from there but I am following the rabbit holes of upsampling, dedicated endpoints with own PSU etc.
I love Tidal Connect too for the ease of use and wondering about Qobuz offering some similar solution soon (would be great).
The advantage of leveraged streaming apps like Roon will be the possibility to combine all sources and even create playlists, radio stations with mixed local and streaming content plus song texts plus editorial background information.
Good thing about Zen Stream is: it can satisfy all such needs in one device!

I think that setting to SMB2 is risky. Why not just playing your music from DS Audio ti ZS?I had the same. In my case the settings on my Synology NAS weren't compatible with the Zen Stream. It appears the Zen Stream doesn't support Large MTU, so I had to set the minimum SMB-protocol to SMB2 in the the advanced SMB settings on the NAS. After that, it was easy and it works fine.
There will be updates that will be release on February that will extend it to 192khz.I thought there were limitations to the bitrate on that unit.

No, both will stay however stream a bit fuller but wiim has more clarity on top end.so what's your decision? are going to sell the ZS?
I’m sceptical about all this talk about power supplies, but am happy to have my mind changed. Question - has anybody run the ZS off a 12v battery? Isn’t that the definitive noiseless source? That’s a route I can try more easily than committing to a low noise power supply.
I may give it a try unless anybody shouts NOooooooo!
Thoughts?

I've bought mine with the IPower X 12v and it's fine. However, my ZS came with the IPower 15v and I can't spot any audible difference between the twoI’m sceptical about all this talk about power supplies, but am happy to have my mind changed.
